Mahindra and Mahindra recently announced the official name for it’s much awaited U321 MPV.This MPV which will go on sale with Marazzo Moniker will sit between the Scorpio and XUV500.The word ‘Marazzo’ which is pronounced as ‘Muh-rat-zzo’ means shark and is linked to vehicle’s shark-inspired design and here are all the details of Upcoming New 2018 Mahindra Marazzo.
The MPV will be Mahindra’s first monocoque-bodied large vehicle and co-developed by Italian design house Pininfarina and Mahindra Design Studio and first product to be engineered through Mahindra North America technical Centre (MNATC) and Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai.
The Marazzo is said to have the longest wheelbase for any Mahindra vehicle.It will be Longest and Widest in Segment.Manufacturing will take place at the Nashik plant.Mahindra has designed the Marazzo MPV with an all-wheel drive layout in mind.
ENGINE and MILEAGE
Powering the Mahindra MPV would be the same 1.5-litre diesel engine jointly developed by Mahindra and Ssangyong and a new 1.5-litre petrol motor with 121 bhp of power and 300 nm of peak torque.This unit gets a 6-speed manual transmission with likely a automatic transmission.Mileage of the upcoming MPV would be decent due to the availability of Micro Hybrid Technology,Brake Regeneration and Eco mode along with low NVH levels.
EXTERIOR
Marazzo will sport a Shark teeth inspired grille along with sharp projector headlights with DRLs integrated in the fog lamps.The tail lamps are boomerang shaped with shark fin antenna.It will sit on stylish alloy wheels.Overall MPV has an aggressive and muscular look all around.
INTERIOR
The cabin of the MPV features Dual tone premium Black and Beige interiors with piano black fish and silver inserts.Leather upholstery will be offered on top-spec trims. Marazzo will offer 7 and 8 seating layout option.Seats will be high on comfort with huge legroom and headroom for all 3 rows especially the last one.Roof mounted A/C vents for second and third rows will ensure rapid cooling of the cabin.
FEATURES
Features list includes cruise control,auto climate control,roof mounted vents for second and third rows with industry 1st surround cool technology.A 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and smart apps borrowed from the XUV500 will be on offer in Marazzo.The dual-pod instrument cluster will have a large TFT MID with analogue dials with purple light surrounds 4×4 / AWD drivetrain logo will be displayed on instrument cluster.
SAFETY FEATURES
Mahindra will equip Marazzo equally as New XUV500 2018.Safety features which are likely to be on offer in upcoming Mahindra MPV includes ABS with EBD,Multiple Airbags,Cruise Controls,Auto Headlamps,Rain Sensing wipers,Traction Controls among others.
PRICE and LAUNCH DATE
Price of Mahindra Marazzo is expected to be between 9 lakhs and 15 lakhs.Marazzo will compete with Toyota Innova Crysta and Maruti Ertiga.Mahindra Marazzo will be launched by the end of this month.
Marazzo will have a unique balance of smooth ride,agile handling, space.Best-in-class cooling,excellent safety and a tough body construction could probably fear its closest rivals.
Mahindra has many cars in line up for the launch.Along with Marazzo,Ssangyong Tivoli based vehicle,codenamed S201,will debut as a sub4-metre compact SUV with mFalcon 1.2-litre petrol engine and 1.5-litre diesel option.S201 will compete with Maruti S-Cross,Hyundai Creta 2018,Maruti Brezza,Tata Nexon and others in this segment.It will be launched in festive season while XUV700,one of the most anticipated cars will make way to India in early 2019.
