UPCOMING CARS IN JANUARY 2019 IN INDIA
1. Nissan Kicks
Nissan Kicks will be the first car that will be launched in India in 2019.It will be based on rigid B0 architecture and the Indian-spec Kicks is slightly larger on the exterior and interior front.Nissan Kicks will get first-in segment 360-degree camera along with premium features including LED Projector Headlamps, 8-inch Touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay, Android Auto and Voice Recognition, Leather wrapped Dual Tone Brown and Black interior theme with best in class shoulder and knee room.
Safety features offered on Nissan Kicks are Front and Rear Fog Lamps, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, Hill Start Assist and much more.Nissan Connect with 50+ features along with Auto A/C will be standard across all variants.
Powering the Kicks is 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 106 PS @ 5600 RPM with torque of 142 NM @ 4000 RPM which is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.Second engine is 1.5-litre K9K dCi diesel unit which is mated to 6-speed manual transmission churning figures of 110 PS @ 3850 RPM and 240 NM @ 1750 RPM.

Bookings for the SUV have already begun.Price of Nissan Kicks is expected to be between Rs. 10 Lakhs and Rs. 16 Lakhs.It is expected to be launched in second week of January 2019.When launched, it will take on the likes of segment leader Hyundai Creta, Renault Captur, Tata Harrier and Upcoming Kia SP-concept.

2. Toyota Camry 2019
Toyota Camry 2019 will be it’s 8th generation which would be based on Toyota’s New Global Architecture Platform.This platform is also shared with New Lexus ES 300. A number of teasers of Toyota Camry have also been released before its launch.
On the exterior front, New Camry takes inspiration form Lexus sedans.It sports full-LED headlamps which is connected by the V-Shaped grille to the large air dams.The Indian-spec Camry will be quite different in terms of sportiness from the American model.Some prominent bits which adds to the aggressiveness of the the premium sedan is raised boot lip and sharp cuts and creases along the sides.
Premium cabin of Toyota Camry will feature some top-notch features including wireless charging, dual zone A/C and electrically reclining backrests among others.Four Driving modes will be offered – Sport, Eco, EV and Normal.In terms of safety, Toyota will equip Camry with 10 airbags, lane departure alert, dynamic radar cruise contros and much more.
2019 New Toyota Camry will measure 4,879 mm in length, 1838 mm in width which means Toyota Camry 2019 will be longer and wider than the outgoing model but the height of the sedan will be reduced a bit to 1445 mm.
Engine options includes 2.5-litre petrol in standard form while the second one will be in the form of Hybrid which will be paired with 118 HP electric unit.The 2.5-litre unit will produce figure slightly higher than outgoing model at 176 HP and 221 NM torque.While the standard petrol engine will be paired to 8-speed torque converter, the hybrid unit will draw power from 6-speed CVT.
Price of the upcoming premium sedan will be between Rs. 32 Lakhs and Rs. 37 Lakhs.Toyota will launch the 2019 Toyota Camry on January 18, 2019.

3. Tata Harrier
Tata Harrier was showcased at Auto Expo 2018 in the form of concept H5X.Harrier retains a number of key design elements from the concept design however it misses out on sunroof.Harrier looks quite muscular.Key exterior elements includes LED DRLs, Xenon HID Projector Headlamps, fog lamps, skid plates, flared wheel arches, full body cladding and eyebrow shaped tail lamps.The cabin of the Harrier will offer loads of space as it shares the Discovery Sport’s platform.
Standard safety features of Harrier includes Dual Airbags, ABS with EBD, Parking Sensors, Speed Sensing Auto Door Locks, Seatbelt Reminder and Central Locking.Premium features make the top model of Harrier value for money as it gets Leather seats, door panels, steering wheels, 9 JBL speakers with an amplifier, Shark Finn Antenna and Front Fog Lamps with Cornering Function.Safety Features on top-spec XZ model of Harrier will be ESP, Traction Control, Hill hold and Hill descent control, 6 airbags and Roll Over Mitigation along with premium technical features like 7-inch digital instrument cluster and 8.8-inch dash mounted touchscreen infotainment system with all the connectivity options.

Harrier will be offered with only a single powertrain at the time of launch which is on January 23, 2019.Bookings for the car are already open.It will be priced between Rs. 16 Lakhs and Rs. 21 Lakhs (On-Road Price).The Diesel engine will be a 2.0-litre fiat sourced front wheel drive unit which also powers the Jeep Compass with 140 HP of power.The only gearbox on offer is 6-speed manual transmission.Harrier petrol and AT will be introduced in late 2019.

4. Maruti Suzuki WagonR 2019
Maruti Suzuki WagonR will enter it’s 6th generation in January 2019.Although it will continue with tall boy design, major updates will be seen on exterior section of the hatchback including new wraparound headlamps, thick chrome slat on front grille, new angular fog lamps housing.New WagonR sports sloping roof with slightly moved up tail lamps with small part of C-Pillar being black painted.
WagonR will grow in length and wheelbase from its previous generation which would further make the cabin more spacious.Dual tone upholstery, new 7-inch touchscreen system, multi-informative MID, cooled glovebox and Steering Mounted Controls adds to the premiumness of the cabin.In terms of safety, a number of equipments will be on offer right from the basic trim including ABS, Dual Front Airbags, Speed Sensing Auto Door Locks, High Speed Alert System, Reverse Parking Sensors.
There will be two engines on offer.First will be a 1.0-litre BS-IV Petrol engine making 90 Nm of toque which will be mated to 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox.CNG trim will be offered for the LXI and VXI variants with a big 1.2-litre petrol engine which powers the Swift, Baleno and others.This unit will be offered only for the top-spec ZXI model.

Coming to the price, WagonR 2019 will carry a price tag of Rs. 4.3 Lakhs with the top-end fully loaded trim going upto Rs. 5.5 Lakhs.Bookings for the New WagonR will begin in January.Closest rivals of wagonR includes Tata Tiago, New Santro and Renault Kwid.

5. Mercedes V-Class
Mercedes Benz will start 2019 with V-Class.V-Class will be launched in India as a Completely Built Unit (CBD) and will be imported from Spain.V-Class has been on sale in international market sine three years as of now.The vehicle will be offered in two seating configurations – seven and eight seat options.In the 7-seater V-Class, only the second row gets two executive seats while the 8-seater V-Class has got three executive seats for both the second as well as third row.The second row seats can also be rotated 180-degree which could further help to manage the space effectively.
Mercedes V-Class will be powered by a BS-VI compliant 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel unit derived from E-Class which outputs 191 BHP os power and 400 NM of maximum torque.It will serve power from seven speed automatic gearbox.In the global market, Mercedes-Benz V-Class comes in three dimensions – 4985 mm, 5140 mm long wheelbase and extra long 5370 mm wheelbase.The Indian-spec V-Class is expected to get the 5140 mm wheelbase version.
In terms of features, equipment list will be long as it gets 360-degree camera, lane keep assist and much more.This luxury MPV will be launched in India on January 24, 2019.Prices of the luxury MPV will start Rs. 75 Lakhs Onwards.

6. Baleno Facelift 2019
Since it’s launch in July 2015, it has taken the hatchback segment by a storm.Baleno averaging at 17,000 units per month has got top class features and sporty interior.Without any major update since 2005, this hatchback based on HEARTECT platform it the fastest car to cross 3,00,000 sales milestone.

Baleno Facelift will be seen in the form of slight tweaks to the headlamps, tail lamps design, reworked front and rear bumpers along with newly designed alloys for top model.Shark Finn antenna will be offered in Baleno Facelift.Interior theme will remain untouched.Addition will be made in the form of introduction of new colour schemes and even dual tone paint job.

7. BMW X7
BMW has a long list of cars to be introduced in 2019.But in January 2019, the only BMW car that would be introduced will be full size SUV, BMW X7.X7 top model M50d would be introduced in India in January 2019.BMW is expected to offer X7 in both 6-seater (Second row captain seats) and 7-seater.
BMW’s three row X7 will get lot of premium tech on board to challenge the likes of Mercedes Benz GLS, Toyota Land Cruiser, Range Rover Discovery and Volvo XC90.The price of BMW X7 will be Rs. 1 Crore (Ex-Showroom).It is important to note that the SUV will be larger than Land Rover Discovery and Mercedes GLS.BMW X7 which was first displayed at Los Angeles Auto Show 2018 will be launched at India Art Fair which will be held from January 31 to February 2, 2019 in New Delhi.
In the international markets, BMW X7 is offered in a variety of engine options.A variety of engine are offered in BMW X7 in international markets.But for Indian market, firstly M50d Diesel engine will be on offer.Other variants including xDrive 40i, xDrive 50i and xDrive 30d will be introduced after the M50d.M50d is the most powerful of the range with massive 760 NM of peak Torque. BMW X7 will receive power via 8-speed automatic gearbox with all-wheel-drive as standard.
Talking about the exterior, it gets BMW’s iconic kidney shaped grille which will be slightly bigger and squared shaped in X7.Stylish elements on the outside include sleek LED headlamps and LED split tail light.Coming inside the cabin, X7 gets 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system which sits on the multi-layered premium dashboard.The instrument cluster with lots of information is also completely digital.List of features standard across all variant includes ambient lights, soft-close doors, three-piece panoramic sunroof, ,four-zone automatic climate control, reclinable seats function for all rows.The SUV is scores well in practicality as it gets armrest for all three rows and upholders, USB sockets for all the seats as well.
BMW X7 will start it’s innings from January 31, 2019 in India and will prove to be a tough competitor in this price segment.Price of X7 M50d will be around Rs. 1.6 Crores.
