Volvo XC40 Launched;XC40 R-Design Price,Features,Images and Engine Details

Volvo has just launched their all new entry level SUV,the XC40,at a starting price of Rs. 39.90 Lakhs(Ex-Showroom,Delhi).Volvo XC40 will presently be available in only top-spec R-Design which comes fully loaded with features.

The only engine on offer is the similar 2.0-litre,twin turbo 4 cylinder diesel engine,which generates 187 bhp of power and 400 Nm of peak torque.This unit is mated to 8-speed automatic gearbox.It also gets AWD on demand and debuts with first in segment driving modes which includes-Eco,Comfort,Off road and Dynamic.Top speed of XC40 is stated at 210 mph while it completes 0-100kmph sprint in 7.9 seconds.

In terms of design,Volvo XC40 features smoked headlamps,Thor Hammer LED DRLs,Dual tone 18-inch Alloys and Volvo’s traditional vertically shaped LED tail lamps.The front grille gets blackened treatment with blackened with black roof and blackened A-Pillars as standard.

The entry level SUV sports premium black upholstery with contrasting door inserts.There is leather stitching on gear knob and steering wheel.Volvo’s 9.0-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with 13 speakers 600W Harman Kardon Sound System and wireless charging are offered as standard.Other convenience features include powered tail gate and heated front and rear seats.

As usual with Volvo,the XC40 comes equipped with advanced safety features like adaptive cruise controls, lane-keeping assist, 8 airbags, blind spot warning, pilot assist, ESP, traction controls, hill descent control and emergency braking.

The XC40 competes against the likes of Mercedes Benz GLA, BMW X1 and Audi Q3 in entry level luxury SUV along with Lexus NX and Land Rover Discovery. Volvo XC40 may become a key contributor to expanding Volvo’s sales in india,thanks to it’s competitive pricing.The brand aims to double it’s market share in India to 10% by 2020.
