BYD India has officially launched the Sealion 7, a new electric crossover SUV that is set to shake up the Indian EV market. Following its debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the Sealion 7 is available for pre-booking with a refundable deposit of Rs. 70,000. This launch marks BYD’s fourth passenger EV in India, after the Atto 3, eMax 7, and Seal.
Variants and Pricing of the BYD Sealion 7
The BYD Sealion 7 is offered in two variants: Premium and Performance. The Premium variant is priced at Rs. 48.90 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Performance variant costs Rs. 54.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The vehicle has already received over 1,000 bookings in India.
Design
The BYD Sealion 7 showcases a sleek, fastback silhouette, combining ocean-inspired design elements with a modern aesthetic. The SUV features a low-slung bonnet, muscular wheel arches, and sculpted body lines, all contributing to its futuristic stance. It is available in four exterior shades: Cosmos Black, Atlantis Grey, Aurora White, and Shark Grey.

Battery, Powertrain, and Performance
The Sealion 7 is powered by an 82.56 kWh battery pack that offers a claimed range of up to 567 km on a full charge for the RWD variant. On the other hand, AWD variant offers a 542 km range which is 25 km less than RWD trim. The Performance variant is equipped with a powerful electric motor that generates 515.85 bhp and 690 Nm of torque, making it one of the quickest electric models in its segment, accelerating from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.5 seconds.
The RWD variant, on the other hand, generates 303.78 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. Both configurations feature BYD’s Intelligent Torque Active Control (iTAC) system, which dynamically adjusts torque in real-time, improving driving dynamics and efficiency.
