
Tata Motors reports 76,138 unit sales for December 2023 last month while in Q3 2023, Tata sold 2,29,610 unit sales which is 4% Monthly and 3% Yearly Growth. Moreover, it reports highest ever yearly sales of 5.53 Lakh ranking 3rd in position behind its rival Hyundai at 2nd position with 6 lakh sales while Maruti is always at 1st with 20 Lakh Sales.
Tata Motors Sales: What you need to know!
The PV + CV combined sales of Tata Motors in December 2023 is 76,138 units which is year-on-year growth by 4% over the 72,997 units in December 2022. In Q3 FY24, Tata reported 2,29,610 units with 3% growth over the 2,23,001 units in Q3 FY23. In Passenger Vehicles, the domestic sales accounted to 43,470 units which is a year-on-year growth by 9% compared to 40,043 units in Dec. 2022. In Q3 FY24, it reports 1,37,875 units which is also up by 5% compared to 1,31,297 units in Q3 FY23.

The Passenger Vehicles sales includes Electric Vehicles too which accounted to 5,006 units, up by 29% compared to 3,868 units in Dec. 2022. In Q3 FY24, Tata sold 15,232 units which is up by 21% over the 12,596 units in Q3 FY23. Speaking of EVs, Tata is set to launch the Punch EV later this month which will pack new features and importantly it’ll sport around 500 KMs in range making it the first EV by Tata to offer this much range.
Moving to the Commercial Vehicles, Tata sold 34,180 units in Dec. 2023 up from the 33,949 units in Dec. 2022 with an year-on-year growth by just 1%. Even in Q3, it reports 96,526 units in FY24 up by 1% compared to 95,914 units in FY23. The HCV Trucks accounted 11,199 units with 10% growth over Dec. 2022; ILMCV trucks reports 8% growth to 5,675 units as opposed to 5,255 units in Dec. 2022.

The Passenger Carriers 3,060 units were sold with 14% growth over the Dec. 2022; and the SCV Cargo and Pickup sales were 12,734 units which is however down from 14,827 units in Dec. 2022. Notably, Tata is gaining traction in the exports with 1,512 units exported which is up by 52% over the 995 units exported in Dec. 2022.
Tata has big plans for 2024 as it’s got so many cars lined-up for launches, and some of them are –
1. Tata Punch.ev (Expected: January 2024)
2. Tata Curvv (Expected: H1 2024)
3. Tata Harrier and Safari Petrol (Expected: Early 2024)
4. Tata Harrier.ev and Safari.ev (Expected: H2 2024)
