Hyundai Venue remains 2nd best-selling compact SUVs for Hyundai in India. In 2024, it recorded total sales of 1,17,819 units, with sales fluctuating across different months. While the Venue showed strong growth in certain months, it also faced significant declines, highlighting shifting market trends and consumer preferences.
Hyundai Venue began the year with 11,831 units sold in January. February saw a sharp drop to 8,933 units, marking a 24.5% decline, the biggest monthly drop of the year. March saw a slight recovery with 9,614 units, reflecting a 7.6% growth. Ahead of that, Hyundai introduced the Executive variant for the SUV which comes with 1.0 L Turbo Petrol engine. April saw decline in sales again to 9,120 units, a 5.1% decrease.
May saw a small improvement with 9,327 units, registering a 2.3% growth. June continued the positive trend with 9,890 units, a 6% increase. However, July recorded a decline to 8,840 units, down 10.6%, followed by a mild recovery in August with 9,085 units, a 2.8% increase. In August, Hyundai launched the S(O)+ variant with sunroof, which was the most affordable sunroof variant in Venue line-up at the time.
September saw one of the strongest gains of the year, with sales rising to 10,259 units, marking a 12.9% growth. In September, Hyundai launched another Sunroof variant which made it the most affordable variant in the line-up. Additionally, Hyundai launched the Adventure edition of the SUV which sees it getting new range khaki exterior paint and green sage highlights for interiors. It’s based on SX and. SX(O) variant. October continued the momentum with 10,901 units, a 6.3% increase. However, November witnessed a drop to 9,754 units, a 10.5% decline, before December bounced back to 10,265 units, closing the year with a 5.2% growth.
The Hyundai Venue witnessed strong demand in January, the festive season in September and October; and in December. These months likely benefited from new model updates, feature additions, and increased consumer demand. However, the sharp drop in February and the slower months in July and November indicate heavy competition from rivals like the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, and Kia Sonet. Price fluctuations, shifting consumer preferences, and less features may have also influenced the monthly variations.
Despite fluctuations, the Hyundai Venue maintained strong overall sales in 2024, with 1,17,819 units sold. While the SUV faced some declines, its steady recovery in later months shows its continued appeal in the compact SUV segment. With potential updates and new features expected in 2025, the Hyundai Venue will aim to maintain its competitive edge in the market.
