Jeep Compass vs Mahindra XUV700 – Exterior and Interior
The Jeep Compass from the outside has the classic Jeep grille with seven block on it and LED headlamps, and below the headlamps is the small cube-shape LED foglamps. It has cuts on the bonnet for sporty look and the bumpers are blacked out. From the side, it has thin wheel arches, non-functional roof rails, and rides on the 17-inch alloy wheels. Moving to the rear, it has spoiler with stop lamp at center, shark fin antenna on top, and has LED taillamps.
At the front of the Mahindra XUV700, you can see there is the grille with twin-vertical bars and the first and last twin vertical bars bends to give that flowing into LED headlamps, which those two lines act as LED DRLs as well. The side profile of the XUV700 is just clean with roofline, chrome line on the bottom frame of window, the smart door handle for improved aerodynamics, non-functional roof rails, and thin wheel arch lines. At the rear, it has the arrow-shape taillamps, rear spoiler with shark fin antenna on top, and the bumper finished in faux silver skid plate.
From the inside, the Jeep Compass has a 10.1-inch infotainment system positioned above the AC vents and the AC vents are aligned with chrome line to give it that one clean dashboard look. It has the dual-tone dashboard option as well. The Compass has a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a huge panoramic sunroof. It has 2-zone climate control, and two USB ports at the front and rear. Around the gear lever, it has a metal toggle switch for drive modes, buttons for 4WD lock, hill descent control, 4WD low, and electric parking brake with auto hold. The push start/stop button is on the left side of the steering wheel next to the infotainment side. Moving to the rear seats, it is split in 60:40 ratio with recline seat as well.
As for the XUV700, it has dual 10.25-inch displays with one being the infotainment system and the other acting as a digital instrument cluster. It has rectangular shape AC Vents at the sides with the dual-tone dashboard theme option as well. The XUV700 has a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, a huge panoramic sunroof, and the pedals finished in black. The button for the engine start/stop is on the left side of the steering wheel. Around the gear lever, it has electric parking brake with auto hold function as well, below that is the rotary dial to control the infotainment and can be program for other things, and sliding armrest with storage inside. The second row has seats split in 60:40 ratio and the third row is split in 60:40 ratio. Mahindra has fitted the XUV700 with 12 Sony 3D Speakers sound system for you to hear the best sound as possible.
So, from the outside, both the SUVs look spacious and premium, but the XUV700 looks more spacious and premium as one can tell that the XUV700 looks way bigger and good than the Compass. From the inside, again both the SUVs looks really good, but we’ve to side with the XUV700 as it’s spacious, comfy, and gives premium vibes.

The Mahindra XUV700 has a length of 4695mm that is longer by 290mm, width of 1890mm that is wider by 72mm, and height of 1755mm that is taller by 115mm. The Compass has a wheelbase of 2636mm and ground clearance of 2750mm whereas the XUV700 has a wheelbase of 2750mm which is longer by 114mm, and ground clearance of 200mm that is higher by 22mm. Both the SUVs has 60 litres fuel tank on offer. The Compass has a kerb weight of 1,705 kg which is 30 kg lighter than the 1,735 kg kerb weight of XUV700.
So, in Dimensions, the XUV700 is bigger in every way which results in great amount of space and comfort for the passengers. Moreover, the XUV700 is available in 5-seater or 7-seater configuration, where as the Compass is available in 5-seater configuration only.
