Kia’s H1 2025 growth was primarily driven by popular models in the utility vehicle segment, including the Seltos, Sonet, and Carens. The recently introduced Syros compact SUV also added momentum. A major contributor has been the Carens Clavis, which continues to draw attention for its spacious cabin, comfort-loaded features, and top-tier safety. The Carens range was further expanded with the ICE version of the Carens Clavis, and now, Kia is gearing up to launch its first Made-in-India EV – the Carens Clavis EV – on July 15, 2025.
Commenting on the half-year performance, Mr. Joonsu Cho, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India, said:
“The first half of 2025 has been encouraging for Kia India. Marked by steady growth despite industry-wide operational challenges, the response to our recently launched products, like the Carens Clavis has been great.
With our first Made-in-India EV launching this month, we are diversifying our product portfolio fortifying our long-term commitment to the evolving preferences of Indian customers. We are confident this launch will further increase our presence in the country’s fast-transforming mobility landscape. Going forward, we remain optimistic about sustaining a healthy growth trajectory in the second half of the year.”
Kia Carens Clavis EV: Launching July 15
The upcoming Carens Clavis EV stays visually close to its ICE counterpart, with signature elements like triangular LED headlamps, L-shaped LED DRLs, and a full-width LED light bar at the front. The charging port is neatly integrated into the front fascia, and it gets new dual-tone alloy wheels for a distinct EV identity.
Inside, the cabin retains a familiar layout with dual integrated screens, a two-spoke steering wheel, and an updated centre console specific to the EV version which is similar to the Creta Electric. Highlight features include:
- Dual-zone Climate Control
- Panoramic Sunroof
- Level 2 ADAS
- Powered Driver Seat
- Dual 12.3-inches Displays
- Vehicle-2-Load (V2L)
- Ambient Lighting
The Carens Clavis EV is expected to share its powertrain with the Hyundai Creta Electric, and will be offered with two battery pack options – 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh, with a claimed range of up to 490 km with a bigger battery pack variant.
What’s Ahead for Kia India
Kia is also preparing to introduce the next-generation Seltos and the Syros EV, indicating a continued focus on both ICE and electric vehicle segments. Despite a slight dip in June sales, Kia India’s strong H1 2025 performance, product expansion, and upcoming EV launch underline the brand’s resilience, strong customer sentiment, and commitment to India’s growing EV market.
