Mahindra has introduced a revised charging policy for the upcoming BE 6 and XEV 9e electric SUVs, offering more flexibility to buyers. Initially, purchasing a company-supplied charger was mandatory, but Mahindra now allows customers to opt out under specific conditions.
New EV Charging Policy for Mahindra BE 6 & XEV 9e
Buyers can now skip the charger purchase if they meet any of these three criteria:
- No Private Charging Setup – If a home or office lacks provisions for a private charger, customers are exempt.
- Already Own a Compatible Charger – Those with an existing charger that meets Mahindra’s safety standards can opt out.
- Multiple Mahindra EVs in One Household – Families purchasing two or more Mahindra electric SUVs can share a single charging point.
For all other buyers, Mahindra continues to sell the 7.2kW AC charger for Rs 50,000 and the 11.2kW AC charger for Rs 75,000, which must be purchased with the SUV.
