The new Alto K10 hatchback, priced aggressively at Rs. 3.99 lakh, ex-showroom, has already arrived. Let’s compare it to its sister model, the S-Presso, which is just above it in the company line, to see how it performs.

DIMENSIONS

The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is longer, wider and taller than the Alto K10 and it offer more space too. For a premium of around Rs. 25,000, one gets a bigger looking and spacious car from the same brand.

FEATURES

In terms of features, the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso and the Maruti Alto K10 are equipped similarly. Similar to the Alto, the S-base Presso’s model is devoid of air conditioning and power steering, while the top VXi+ model is the only one with a 7-inch touchscreen. Both vehicles come equipped with reverse parking sensors and dual airbags for safety. The customer’s decision to spend a few thousand rupees more for the S-Presso, a car that looks and feels bigger in comparison, will depend on their willingness to do so.

INTERIOR

Alto K10 has a completely new interior that includes a Digital Speedometer, Distance to Empty, Average & Instantaneous Fuel Consumption, Gear Position Indicator, Dr.+Co Dr. Sun Visor, Rear Parcel Tray, Co-Dr. + Rear Assist Grips, Front Console Utility Space, Front Map Pockets, Silver Accent on Steering wheel/Side Louvers/Centre Garnish, while S-Presso offers a Dynamic Centre Console, High Seating for Commanding Drive View,  Front Cabin Lamp(3 Positions),Sun visor(Dr + Co.Dr),Digital Display in the Instrument Cluster,  Fuel Consumption(Instantaneous & Average),Distance to Empty. Rear seat headset and fabric upholstery are some necessities that are missing in alto but is available in S-presso.

EXTERIOR

The outside of the Alto K10 sports body coloured bumpers, body coloured outside door handles, and a basic, classic design. S Presso has a very distinctive and different exterior design, with features such an SUV-inspired bold front fascia, twin chamber headlamps, signature C-shaped taillamps, B-pillar black out tape, side body cladding, body-coloured bumpers, body-coloured ORVMs, and body-coloured outside door handles.

PRICE

Pricing for both the cars are almost similar, S-presso is a little bit expensive than alto.
