MG Motors has launched a new mid-variant to their ZS EV electric SUV range called the Excite Pro. It is priced at Rs. 19.98 Lakh and interestingly, the company claims the ZS EV is the only electric SUV under Rs. 20 lakh with panoramic sunroof.

This new mid-variant costs Rs. 1 Lakh more than the entry-level Executive variant but Rs. 4 Lakh less than the Exclusive Plus variant. The Excite Pro gets additional features over the Executive variant such as JBL Sound System (6 Speakers), 10.1-inch Infotainment with Wireless Apple Carplay & Android Auto, Dual-Pane Panoramic Sunroof, Roof Rails finished in Silver, leather-wrapped steering wheel.

It’s also worth adding that the Excite variant is now discontinued, but still there are 4 variants on offer – Executive, Excite Pro, Exclusive Plus, and Essence. What you must have noticed is that the Exclusive trim has changed to Exclusive Plus, and the original “Exclusive Plus” trim has changed to “Essence.”

All variants gets the 50.3 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 461 KM, and front-axle mounted single motor which produces 174.33 BHP and 280 NM of torque. It takes 9 Hours to charge from 0 – 100% using a 7.4 kW AC Charger and around 60 Minutes to charge 0 – 80% on a 50 kW DC Charger.

The ZS EV comes loaded with features such as ADAS, 360 Surround View Camera, Ventilated Seats, Hill Descent Control, 7-inch Digital Instrument Cluster, 6 Airbags, Traction Control, Electric Parking Brake with Auto Hold, Powered Driver Seat, and so much more.

It doesn’t have a direct rival, yet it’s facing tough competition from the Tata Nexon EV and the recently updated Mahindra XUV400 EV.
