2023 is almost over, and next year, 2024 promises big launches, and one of those awaited big launches is the Next Generation Toyota Fortuner. Toyota had confirmed the popular SUV of India will be getting the new-gen update, and confirmed that the powertrain they’ll be using is the diesel paired with 48V mid-hybrid tech to reduce emissions and increase fuel efficiency.

2024 New Toyota Fortuner: What you need to know!

The next-gen Toyota Fortuner will undergo big exterior changes like it’ll get new front face which looks a semi-hexagon shape grille with three horizontal slats and new sharper looking tri-cube LED headlights with thinner and sleeker looking LED DRLs with in the headlamp unit. The side profile will most likely look the same except it’ll sport new set of alloy wheels. Moving to the rear, it’s likely the new Fortuner will get connected LED taillamps and new bumper design both the front and the rear.

Moving to the interiors, it’s possible it will get slight change in dashboard design to accomodate a bigger free-standing 10.25-inch infotainment system and below it will the slimmer AC vents. There will be a new fully digital instrument cluster which Toyota could borrow from the Innova HyCross, and in from the cluster will be the new 4-spoke steering wheel. Moreover, the 2nd-row could get the Ottoman Seats which was seen in the HyCross as many of its rivals in the segment offer Captain Seats, and Toyota could follow the same footstep with the Fortuner.

When it comes to Engine Options, the Fortuner will continue to sport the 2.8 L 4 Cylinder Diesel engine paired to the 48V battery for the mild-hybrid which will help to reduce emissions and achieve better fuel efficiency. It is likely the power and the torque output will remain the same, 201 BHP and 420 NM for IMT Gearbox, and 500 NM for Automatic Gearbox. Additionally, the 2.7 L Petrol Engine will remain the same as before, 164 BHP and 245 NM of torque mated to 5 Speed Manual and 6 Speed Automatic Gearbox.

The current Fortuner has features like ventilated seats, powered tailgate, 2-zone climate control, 7 Airbags, Hill Descent Control, 8-inch infotainment system, 6 Speaker Sound System, and so much more. In the new-gen Fortuner, it’ll have new features like 10.25-inch infotainment system, new digital instrument cluster, ottoman seats in 2nd row, 360 Surround View Camera, and we could see the return of the 11 Speaker JBL Sound System.
