Simple Energy has launched the new and updated version of the Simple One electric scooter that boasts 248 KM range and new features!
Simple Energy has introduced an updated version of its Simple One electric scooter, now boasting an IDC-claimed range of 248 km on a single charge. Despite the improvements, the price remains unchanged at Rs 1.66 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The update also brings new features, and the company is gearing up for a major expansion in its dealership network.
More Range with the Same Battery
The Simple One retains its 5 kWh battery, split into a fixed 3.7 kWh unit and a portable 1.3 kWh pack. While no major mechanical changes have been made, the range has increased by 36 km from the previous 212 km. This improvement is likely due to software tweaks and a more efficient drivetrain.
Performance remains impressive, with a 0-40 km/h acceleration in 2.77 seconds and a top speed of 105 km/h. However, at 136 kg, it remains one of the heavier e-scooters in the segment.
New Features in the 2025 Simple One
The updated model now comes with:
- Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) for real-time monitoring
- Regenerative braking for improved efficiency and energy recovery
- USB charging port for added convenience
The Simple One is available in six colours, including four monotone shades (Brazen Black, Namma Red, Azure Blue, Grace White) and two dual-tone options (Brazen X, Light X).
Simple Energy’s Expansion Plans
Currently, Simple Energy has only 10 dealerships across India, but the company is planning aggressive expansion. By FY26, it aims to establish 150 showrooms and 200 service stations, significantly boosting its market presence.
Competition in the EV Scooter Market
The electric scooter market in India is evolving, with Ola Electric losing market share in CY24, making room for brands like TVS, Bajaj, and Vida. The Simple One will compete with rivals like: Ola S1 Pro+, TVS iQube ST, Bajaj Chetak 3501, Vida V2 Pro, and Ather 450 Apex
Final Thoughts
With an improved range, new features, and aggressive expansion plans, the 2025 Simple One is now a stronger competitor in the premium electric scooter segment. The unchanged price makes it an even more attractive option for buyers looking for a high-range, feature-packed electric two-wheeler.
