Suzuki has launched the all-new Alto with improved 28.2 KMPL Mileage and more importantly with ADAS!

Suzuki has officially unveiled the 2025 Alto facelift in Japan, giving the ninth-generation hatchback its first major update since its debut in 2021. Known for its compact dimensions and high practicality, the Alto continues to be a hot-seller in its home market as a Kei car — a category unique to Japan that focuses on affordability, efficiency, and urban friendliness.

2025 Suzuki Alto Facelift: What’s New?

The 2025 Suzuki Alto brings subtle design revisions, enhanced features, and improved fuel economy. The front fascia now gets a redesigned open grille that houses a radar sensor module for ADAS functions. The lower grille and bumpers have been reshaped to offer a rounder, more aerodynamic look, while a new rear roof spoiler has been added to improve stability and styling.

Suzuki has also introduced new colour options, including a Terracotta Pink and an updated dual-tone Soft Beige with a white roof. Buyers can now choose from 8 monotone and 4 dual-tone colour schemes. The overall design retains its tall-boy profile and compact footprint, making it ideal for tight city environments.

Interiors and Features

Inside, the 2025 Alto continues to follow a practical approach. It remains a four-seater without a central console, keeping the gear shifter mounted on the dashboard. The updated model now offers a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Suzuki Connect telematics, remote climate control via smartphone, and other creature comforts like power windows, automatic climate control, and multiple cup holders.

Top variants come with leather-wrapped steering wheels and chrome-finished door handles, while even the standard trims include safety-enhancing ADAS features.

Powertrain

Under the hood, the 2025 Suzuki Alto offers two engine options — a 660cc three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol and a 660cc mild-hybrid variant. The standard petrol engine produces 45 bhp and 55 Nm, while the mild-hybrid version generates 48 bhp and 58 Nm. Both units are paired with a CVT gearbox, and an optional AWD system is available for better traction in adverse weather conditions.

Thanks to aerodynamic improvements, the mild-hybrid Alto now returns a best-in-class fuel efficiency of 28.2 kmpl (WLTC), slightly up from the previous 27.6 kmpl, making it the most fuel-efficient hybrid Kei car in Japan.

Safety

Safety has also been enhanced with the inclusion of Dual Sensor Brake Support II, Lane Departure Prevention, and a Traffic Light Departure Notification System. Additionally, low-speed automatic braking for both front and rear, along with rear parking sensors, is standard across variants.

2025 Suzuki Alto Price in Japan

The 2025 Suzuki Alto starts at ¥11,42,900 (approx. ₹6.76 lakh) for the naturally aspirated FWD version, while the top-spec hybrid AWD variant is priced at ¥16,39,000 (approx. ₹9.70 lakh).

How is India-Spec Alto Different?

The Maruti Suzuki Alto sold in India is completely different in terms of platform, design, and features. It gets a larger 1.0L NA petrol engine, returns 24.39 kmpl (manual) and 24.90 kmpl (AMT), and also comes with a CNG option delivering 33.40 km/kg. Safety features in the Indian version include six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, and rear parking sensors.
