BYD has launched a new electric sedan for the Indian Market, the Seal Electric Sedan. The bookings for the electric sedan has already commenced at Rs. 1.25 Lakh, and those who book before March 31st, 2024, you get few additional services such as free home charger installation, 3 kW Portable Box along with 6 Years of Roadside Assistance among the others.

The BYD Seal measures 4.8 Meters in Length, 1.87 Meters in Width, and stands at 1.46 Meters tall with a 2.92 Meters Wheelbase. It’s got two boot spaces – 400 L Boot at the Rear; and 50 L Boot at the front known as Frunk. The Seal EV draws inspiration from the Ocean X concept unveiled back in 2021 while adhering to BYD’s signature “ocean aesthetics” design philosophy.

Its exterior boasts distinct features like sleek all-glass roof reminiscent of a coupe, seamlessly integrated door handles, and striking LED lighting elements such as four boomerang-shaped daytime running lights and swept-back headlamps with a distinctive C-shaped design extending into the bumper. Adding to its allure are the 19-inch alloy wheels featuring an elegant petal-like pattern. The Seal EV is available with 4 color options – Arctic Blue, Aurora White, Atlantis Grey, and Cosmos Black.

Heading to the inside of the cabin, the BYD Seal offers a rotating 15.6-inch infotainment screen positioned in the center console, accompanied by a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a heads-up display for the driver. Echoing the flamboyant design cues of the Atto 3, the interior showcases fluid lines and textured surfaces. The center console houses a crystal toggle drive selector along with physical controls for functions such as heated windscreen, volume adjustment, and two wireless charging pads. Rear seats feature a 60:40 split-folding mechanism.

The Seal EV comes with two battery packs – 61.44 kWh and 82.56 kWh and both these batteries comes with BYD’s patented Blade Technology. The EV is capable of charging at speeds of up to 150 kW DC Charger which translates to 10 – 80% charge in 37 Minutes while it takes 8.6 Hours to charge from 0 – 100% on a 11 kW AC Charger. BYD is offering 8 Years / 1,60,000 KM Battery Warranty and 8 Years / 1,50,000 KM Warranty for the Motor and Motor Controller Unit.

Notably, the Seal has earned a 5 Star safety rating from Euro NCAP, further underscoring its commitment to passenger safety.
