A new SUV has been spotted testing in India with launch scheduled for 2025. The SUV we’re talking about is the Punch which as confirmed by Tata is set to receive Facelift update aligning its design close to the EV version.
2025 Tata Punch Facelift: What’s New?
At first glance, the updated version of the Facelift SUV looks very similar to the electric version that came out in January 2024. It shares a lot of design features with other Tata models like the Nexon, Harrier, and Safari. However, there are some differences between the regular and electric versions, similar to what we see with the Nexon and its electric counterpart.

For instance, the standard version might not have certain fancy features like connected LED light bar at the front, and the bumper might look a bit different to tell them apart. Apart from that, the SUV pretty much looks the same as the electric version, except for some new designs on the alloy wheels. Inside, the Facelift will be similar to the electric version, featuring a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, a digital cockpit cluster, a new steering wheel design, and more.
However, like the Nexon, the standard version will also miss out on some features like an electric parking brake, LED DRLs with welcome animations, and over-the-air (OTA)updates. But overall, it’ll be a big upgrade from the current non-electric version.
As for the engines, the Facelift will probably keep the same 1.2 Litre Petrol engine and 1.2 Litre CNG option as well. Both will likely come with either a manual or automatic gearbox. The Facelift is expected to launch in 2025, with the SUV becoming a popular choice in India since its introduction in 2021. Other companies like Hyundai have also entered this segment with Exter, and Maruti is set to join in 2026 with their SUV codenamed “Y43”.
