New XUV 3XO Rivalling SUV Spotted in India for the first time with launch taking place by late 2025!
The next-generation Hyundai Venue is gearing up for a launch in India, with an expected arrival by late 2025. It will be the first model rolled out from Hyundai’s new Talegaon plant, a facility acquired from General Motors with a significant investment of Rs. 6,000 crore. The plant is set to become operational in 2025.
The new-gen Venue was first spotted testing in South Korea in October 2024. More recently, spy shots of a test mule in India have surfaced, hinting at key design changes. The Indian-spec model appears to be a low-spec variant, showcasing subtle differences compared to the prototype seen overseas.
Design Updates
The overall silhouette of the new Venue remains similar to the current model, but with noticeable updates to enhance its appeal. Influenced by the latest design language seen in the Hyundai Creta and Alcazar, the Venue will feature new styling elements.
Up front, it is expected to get a revised grille with a parametric design, a split headlamp setup, triple ice cube-style LED DRLs, and vertically arranged LED headlights. The rear design includes redesigned LED tail lamps, a sportier bumper, and slightly revised window lines, giving the C-pillar a more muscular appearance. New alloy wheel designs, likely 16-inch or 17-inch, will further refresh its stance.
Interior and Feature Upgrades
The cabin of the next-gen Venue will undergo a significant overhaul, incorporating modern features and premium materials. Updates are expected to include a dual 10.2-inch screen setup (similar to the Kia Sonet), new seat upholstery, and enhanced surface trims for a more upmarket feel.
Advanced connectivity features, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, a dual-pane sunroof, and improved ADAS features could be part of the package. However, the India-spec version might not receive all ADAS features seen in the global model.
Powertrain Options Remain Familiar
The Venue will continue to offer its existing engine lineup, which includes:
- 1.2L NA Petrol Engine
- 1.0L Turbo Petrol Engine
- 1.5L Diesel Engine
Transmission options will include a 5-speed MT, 6-speed MT, 6-speed iMT, and a 7-speed DCT, depending on the chosen engine variant.
Competing in a Crowded Segment
The sub-4m SUV segment in India is more competitive than ever, with rivals like the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV3XO, and Toyota Syros. While the Hyundai Venue has been a strong player since its launch in 2019 and facelift in 2022, it is starting to show its age.
The next-gen Venue aims to address this with a fresh design, updated features, and improved technology, potentially setting a new benchmark in the segment. With its anticipated launch by late 2025, Hyundai is poised to reignite interest in the Venue and take on its well-equipped competitors.
