In coming months, the Indian Market will see the launch of 3 crazy Electric SUVs that will come with crazy designs and features which will be affordable as well.
The latest spy shot comes from the Youtuber, Vipul Chavan reveals new details of the Punch EV. For instance, the test mule almost gives away the exterior design of the EV. It looks like the Punch EV will follow the same design language as its elder sibling, Nexon EV facelift like the connected LED DRLs that spans across the whole width of the electric SUV. The lower bumper design features a vertical straight lines pattern which is different than the tri-arrow pattern on the ICE Punch.
Below the connected LED DRLs, it has cube-shape LED headlamps that could be split headlamps vertically positioned. Moving to the side profile, it largely remains the same, except it will be getting new aero-efficient 5-spoke alloy wheel design to help with the range. Moving to the rear, it’s unlikely it’ll get connected tail lamps, but the design will be tweaked and will look somewhat similar to the Nexon EV Facelift.
Earlier Spy Shots of the Punch EV had revealed updated interiors over the ICE version. The EV was seen sporting new 10.25-inch Infotainment System which could be available from mid to top trims while lower trims gets 7-inch unit. It’ll borrow the two-spoke steering wheel from the Nexon EV which has a display that illuminates the Tata logo. The EV will also get rotary dial gear shifters, and it’s possible it’ll get digital instrument cluster or maybe a redesigned instrument cluster that displays EV-related information.
Apart from this, the EV was said to be seen with a electronic parking brake and could be exclusive to top variant. When it comes to Features, it’ll come with automatic climate control, 10.25-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, Wireless Charging Pad, Voice-activated electric sunroof, LED headlamps, and many more. As for the safety feature, it’s expected to come with 6 Airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Cruise Control, Tyre-Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Disc Brakes for all wheels, 360 Surround View Camera, Rear Parking Sensors, and few more.
While we’ve no official word on the battery specs, but considering the Punch EV will be the fourth EV in the line-up, it can come with a battery pack bigger than the Tigor (26 kWh) to offer range of up to 500 KMs. Tata has said, the Punch EV could hit the roads before the year ends, and since December is the only month left this year, expect the EV to launch in the mid to late December.
The Tata Curvv EV from the outside has vertically-split headlamps at the front with a sharp styling with striking, minimalistic, yet future design which Tata calls it as “New Digital Design Language.” It has a sloping coupe-like roofline similar to the BMW X6, or Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe, which integrates into the tailgate of the Curvv. From the side, it has body cladding, square-shape wheel arches, and rides on 18-inch alloy wheels. Moving to the rear, the connected LED taillamps theme continues and skid plates at the front and rear for bumpers.
From the inside, the Curvv EV gets a three-layer dashboard with a 10.25-inch rectangle infotainment system, full digital instrument cluster which could be same as the one seen in Tata Harrier and Safari, two-spoke multi-function steering wheel, and it has touch-sensitive controls for the climate control. The Curvv EV will be equipped with twin motor setup that enables the all-wheel-drive configuration, and could give range somewhere close to 500 KMs in a single charge.
When it comes to Features, Tata Curvv EV will have features such as Level 2 ADAS, ventilated seats, 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, six airbags, electric parking brake with auto hold function, 10.25-inch infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, leather seat upholstery, LED Projector headlamps, Wireless Android Auto/Apple Carplay, Electrically adjustable front seats, ambient lighting, 18-inch alloy wheels, wireless charging, air purifier, and flush door handles.
As for the Powertrains, it’s likely the Curvv EV wil be equipped with 50 – 60 kWh battery to cater 500 KMs range, and it’s likely it’ll come with single motor setup. We should here more about more the EV in the coming weeks.
In less than a year, Mahindra XUV400 is set to get a facelift update as revealed by Mahindra in their earning calls. It’s now highly likely they could try to match the XUV300 Facelift with the XUV400 Facelift with the same features like panoramic sunroof, new steering wheel borrowed from XUV700, and interior updates like the upcoming XUV300 Facelift. They details are a complete mystery now, but we should likely hear more about it in 2024.
