It is time to find the difference between the current generation of Maruti Suzuki Dzire against the Next Generation of Dzire launching in 2024, and find out which Dzire you should opt for, buy the current gen Dzire or wait until the new 2024 Dzire launches.
From the outside, the current Dzire has LED headlamps and the grille in sort-of a hexagonal-shape has chrome borders around it and the fog lamps has chrome coverings as well. The front of the Dzire gives a mean look because of how low the grille has been positioned, which is also covered in chrome. From the side, it has chrome lines on the windows frame and 15-inch alloy wheels. Moving to the rear, it has LED taillamps and chrome bar that connects with the taillamps.
For the next-gen Dzire, Maruti could change the front face by making it slightly aggressive, bigger grille, and a new LED headlamp unit. From the side, it could have few cuts on the body for an aggressive look, chrome door handles, and new alloy wheel design. At the rear, Maruti could tweak the LED taillights design or extend it a bit, and possibly add an LED light bar for the connected LED taillight look.
From the inside, the current Dzire has a 7-inch infotainment system at the center placed below the AC vents and the AC vents are placed horizontally at the side. It has dual-tone dashboard option with pedals finished in black. The Dzire has a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel with analog instrument cluster, automatic climate control, and fabric seat upholstery. Moving to the rear, it has seats that is split in 60:40 ratio, and 6-speaker standard sound system.
As for the next-gen Dzire, it’ll have an 9-inch infotainment system at the center placed above the AC vent and AC vents at the sides positioned horizontally. It’ll have the typical Maruti dashboard layout with the same three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, and Analog instrument cluster with TFT display at the center, below the AC vents is the automatic climate control, and wireless charging pad in front of the gearbox. Moving to the rear, the seats will be split in 60:40 ratio, and will continue to have the 6-speaker sound system except it could of Arkamy’s sound system.

The Current Dzire has two powertrains – Petrol, and CNG, and the next-gen Dzire will have the same powertrain options as well. he Dzire is powered by the 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine that produces 88.50 bhp and 113 Nm of torque paired to a 5-speed Manual Gearbox with 22.41 kmpl fuel efficiency, and 5-speed Automatic Gearbox with 22.61 kmpl fuel efficiency. The Dzire has the 1.2-litre CNG that produces 76.43 bhp and 98.5 Nm of torque paired to 5-speed Manual Gearbox only and no Automatic Gearbox as it’s got fuel efficiency of 31.12 km/kg.
The 2024 Dzire will also be powered by a strong-hybrid powertrain, now we’ve no idea what the power output will be, but it’ll powered by a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine mated to Toyota’s hybrid tech.
The Current Dzire has features such as LED Projector headlamps, 7-inch infotainment system with Wired Apple Carplay/Android Auto, 6-speaker standard sound system, automatic climate control, 15-inch alloy wheels, auto-dimming IRVM, height adjustable driver seat, two airbags, reverse-parking camera with rear parking sensors, Cruise Control, ABS with EBD, Hill Assist, Automatic headlamps, and Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and ISOFIX anchorages.
The next-gen 2024 Dzire will have features such as 9-inch infotainment system with Wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto, six airbags, 360-degree camera, wireless charging pad, heads-up display, and Steering mounted Paddle Shifters for Automatic Gearbox.
The current Dzire starts at Rs. 6.51 lakh for the entry-level ‘LXI’ variant and goes up to Rs. 9.39 lakh for the ‘ZXI Plus Automatic’ top variant. As for the 2024 Dzire, it is expected to be priced at Rs. 7 lakh for the entry level variant.
In the end, the decision to buy or wait depends totally on you, however, it is recommended to wait for the launch of next-gen 2024 Dzire as with the next-gen Dzire, big updates and features are coming with it and strong-hybrid tech is coming with it as well which will be very fuel efficient, and help save money on fuel. Otherwise, you can opt for the current Dzire as it’s spacious and fuel efficiency as well. Which one would you choose?
