Recently, Ford applied for a design patent for the Next-Generation Endeavour for the Indian market, and they have also trademarked another electric SUV. These developments indicate the possibility of Ford making a significant comeback in the Indian market, potentially focusing on electric vehicles.
An interesting fact – Ford had confirmed that the Mustang Mach-E will launch in India soon after it exits operations back in 2021. It is likely the EV will enter India via the CBU Route with 2500 Units Only without homologation; as per the Imports rule. The EV will be quite expensive for sure, but could benefit from the lower GST Rate for Electric Vehicles.
