Hyundai Aura vs Tata Tigor – Exterior and Interior

At the front, the Aura has projector headlamps with inverted L-shaped LED DRLs and the grille rectangular blocks with spaces between them for air intake. At the side, it has 15-inch alloy wheels with door handles finished in chrome and slight crease for the meaner look. At the rear, it has LED taillamps joining the chrome line and a rear spoiler.

Tata Tigor has tri-arrow pattern grille at the front chrome line that runs across the halogen headlamps and a little chrome element near the fog lamps as well. Moving to the side, it has curved roof line, and it has chrome lines at the window frames with 15-inch alloy wheels and chrome door handles. At the rear, it has LED taillamps.

Hyundai Aura has an 8-inch infotainment system with round-shaped rectangular AC Vents with HVAC controls below them. The infotainment system is integrated with the instrument cluster to give it that seamless look. Both the cars have three-spoke multi-function steering wheel. Both the cars have the dual-tone interior options as well. The Tigor has an digital instrument cluster and an 7-inch Harman infotainment system with AC vents above the infotainment system, and controls for them below the infotainment system. The Aura has in-build sound system while the Tigor has Harman surround sound system.

The Aura has got a width of 1680mm while the Tigor is short by 3mm as it has 1677mm width. The Aura has a height of 1520mm while the Tigor has 1532mm height which is 12mm more on offer. Both the sedans have the same wheelbase of 2450mm and the same ground clearance of 165mm.

However, the Aura has a petrol fuel tank of 37 litres and CNG tank of 65 litres while the Tigor has got 35 litres of petrol fuel tank and 60 litres of CNG tank which is 2 litres petrol fuel tank and 5 litres less CNG tank. The Aura has more boot space on offer as its got 402 litres which is 197 litres more than the Tigor’s 205 litres boot space. Both the sedans are powered by Petrol and CNG fuel options. But first, the Hyundai Aura. The Hyundai Aura is powered by 1.2-litre Kappa Petrol engine which produces 81.8 bhp and 113.8 Nm of torque paired to a 5-speed Manual Transmission and 5-speed Automatic Transmission with fuel efficiency of 20.5 kmpl and a top speed of 155 kmph. The Tata Tigor has 1.2-litre Revoltron petrol engine that puts out 84.82 bhp and 113 Nm of torque paired to a 5-speed Manual Transmission and 5-speed Automatic Transmission with fuel efficiency of 19.6 kmpl.

Other than the petrol, the Aura and the Tigor both have the CNG fuel option as well. The Aura has the 1.2-litre Bi-Fuel engine which produces 67.72 bhp and 95.2 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed Manual Transmission only and no Automatic Transmission on offer. The Manual has a fuel efficiency of 28 km/kg. The Tigor on the other hand has the 1.2-litre CNG that puts out 72.40 bhp and 95 Nm of torque paired to a 5-speed Manual Transmission only with fuel efficiency of 26.49 km/kg.

As you can see at the features list, the Tigor misses on two features and that is rear AV vents and wireless charging while the Hyundai Aura misses on 8-speaker sound system. So, in features list, one might survive without the 8-speaker surround sound system but people in the rear does need rear AC vents to be chilled. Therefore, in features, Hyundai Aura is recommended.

As you can see at the safety features list, Tata Tigor misses out on a lot of safety features such as Tyre-Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Cruise Control, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Hill Start Assist. However, the Tigor has been tested at the Global NCAP and it got 4 stars rating making the Tigor safer than the Aura. Therefore, it’s better to opt for the Tigor than the Aura.

In the end, the decision to buy which car totally depends on you, however, it is recommended to buy Hyundai Aura if you’re looking for the comfort, features and safety-tech, and good efficiency.
