With Hyundai sending Block Your Date notification for 16th January, 2024, which is for the Hyundai Creta Facelift Launch, we thought of comparing the Creta Facelift against the Tata Harrier that received the facelift update two months how Creta’s new update brings them closer to Harrier!
The upcoming Hyundai Creta Facelift will feature a large front grille with 3 vertical and horizontal slats. It has a connected LED DRLs at the front whose width spans across the full front body. Then there is the square-shape LED headlamp units with dual-cube shape inside them for low and high-beam light projection. Below the grille is the rectangle unit which is radar for the ADAS, and bumpers are made of skid plates. The side profile remains simple with creases on the body, black-colored roof rails, and new 18-inch alloy wheel. The rear features new connected LED taillamps in L-shape, and shark fin antenna on top, and single-tip exhaust on non-turbo trims, and dual-tip exhaust for turbo trims.
The new Creta Facelift features dual 10.25-inch screens – one for infotainment system, and one for digital instrument cluster. The dashboard layout will change because the dual-screen will be free-standing which would move the rectangular AC vents below them while in the outgoing version, they were positioned above the infotainment system. The vertical positional at the sides of the AC vents will continue to remain the same, and it’s likely it’ll feature the 4-spoke steering wheel similar to the Tucson. The center console will have buttons for ventilated and heated seat, audi-like gear shift lever, rotary dial for drive modes, two cupholders, and manual handbrake for lower trims, and electric parking brake for top trims.
Moreover, it’ll get two USB-C ports both at the front and the rear for fast-charging your phone. The seats at the front are electrically adjustable while the rear seats can be reclined as per your comfort. The rear seats are split in 60:40 ratio, multiple color options for ambient lighting, a huge panoramic sunroof on top, and it continues to have the 8 Speaker Bose Premium Sound System.
From the outside, the Tata Harrier has undergone big exterior changes such as the front fascia as been changed completely with changes to the grille, bumpers, and headlamps. A full-width LED strip is above the grille that spans across the front body, an significant features of the Curvv concept. It has ADAS Radar panel at the bottom grille and the camera at the top of the windscreen from the inside. Moving to the side, it has simple look with creasing, thin wheel arches and rides on the new 18-inch alloy wheels. Moving to the rear, changes extend to the bumpers, skid plate, and wrap-around signature connected LED taillamp that from the side resemble the S shape.
Talking about the interiors, the Harrier Facelift undergone some changes as well like the new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system which is sleek, thinner, and very responsive, new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster that is configurable, and displays navigation maps while driving, in front of the cluster is the new four-spoke steering wheel with display at the center that illuminates the Tata logo, and ambient light across the dashboard, and around the voice-assisted panoramic sunroof. Below the AC vents, it features touch-sensitive panel to control the dual-zone climate control, and other things.
In front of it is the rotary dial for the terrain modes, steptronic gear shifter, and electronic parking brake with auto hold function. It features an fixed armrest but the space inside is good enough to store two cans. On the leather seats, it features huge adjustable headrests to keep you comfy, and further enhances the luxury appeal. Both the seats are electrically adjustable, and comes with ventilated seats. Moving to the rear, the seats are split in 60:40 ratio, and it’s equipped with 10 Speaker JBL sound system.

The Hyundai Creta Facelift is powered by the 1.5 L 4 Cylinder Diesel generating 113.45 BHP and 250 NM of torque mated to 6 Speed Manual and Automatic Gearbox. On the other hand, the Harrier is powered by the 2.0 L 4 Cylinder Diesel engine generating 167.67 BHP and 350 NM of torque, it’s mated to 6 Speed Manual and Automatic Gearbox.

The Tata Harrier starts at Rs. 15.49 Lakh for the base ‘Smart’ trim, and goes all the way up to Rs. 26.44 Lakh for the top ‘Fearless+ Dark Automatic’ variant. The Hyundai Creta Facelift is expected to start from Rs. 11 Lakh as Hyundai earlier this month made it clear that in January a price hike is coming, so we expect the Creta pricing to be there.
As for the warranty, the Hyundai Creta will have 3 years / Unlimited KMs standard warranty which is extendable up to 7 years. Tata Motors offers 3 years/1,00,000 km warranty period for Harrier and can be extended for additional 3 year/1,25,000 km
In the end, the decision to buy which SUV depends totally on you, however, if you’re looking for an SUV that has tons of space, features, performance, and can’t wait anymore, you can go ahead and buy the new Tata Harrier if you can afford. Moreover, Tata Motors is offering Rs. 1.25 Lakh discount on Pre-Facelift Harrier to clear the inventory to make room for new Harrier.
