Which is the best electric SUV to buy under Rs. 20 lakhs? Is it Mahindra XUV400 or Tata Nexon EV Max? Let’s compare these two electric SUVs to find that out!
The Mahindra XUV400 as you can see, the electric SUV has X pattern on the closed grille. The whole SUV is highlighted with copper colors on the logo, door claddings, and roof. It has LED headlamps with LED DRLs integrated at the top inside the headlamps and no fog lamps as you can see, the bumpers at the front and rear are finished in faux silver skid plate, and the bonnet has cuts to give a little meaner look. Moving to the side, it has thin wheel arches with 16-inch alloy wheels and roof rails that appears to be functional. It has LED taillamps with halogen indicators and a small spoiler, and rear wiper on the rear windscreen.
From the front as you can see, it has blacked out closed grille with LED headlamps and LED Fog lamps with blue accent around the fog lamps covering and across the closed grille. The bumper both front and rear are finished in faux silver skid plate. The bonnet has cuts to give a little sporty look from the front. Moving to the side, it has roof rails on the top finished in blue accent, and blue cadding on the window frame. The Nexon EV Max rides on 16-inch alloy wheels. Moving to the rear, it has the arrow LED taillamps with blue element at the center with Tata logo, a small roof spoiler, and rear wiper on the rear windscreen.
From the inside, the XUV400 has the same dashboard layout as the XUV300. It has 7-inch infotainment system placed between the AC vents and the AC vents at the sides positioned horizontally. It t has the option for the dual-tone dashboard. The XUV400 has a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel with analog instrument cluster and TFT display between the analog dials, and a single-pane sunroof. It has a rotary dial to control the HVAC function of the car. It has two USB ports at the front and no USB ports at the rear. The rear seats are split in 60:40 ratio. It has the 6-speaker sound system as well.
As for the Nexon EV Max, it has a 10.25-inch infotainment system placed above the AC vents and the AC vents at the side positioned horizontally. It has the dual-tone theme option as well. The Nexon EV Max has a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel with Semi-Digital instrument cluster, a rotary dial for drive mode with LCD screen that displays the drive mode, electric parking brake with auto hold next to it, and wireless charging pad. The buttons for the ventilated seats are placed at the left bottom side of the driver seat and right bottom side of the passenger side. It has two USB ports at the front and at the rear. The rear seats are split in 60:40 ratio and it has 8-speaker Harman sound system.
So, from the outside, the Nexon EV Max, looks good than the XUV400 and while the design from the outside on your choice. Moreover, the interiors of the Nexon EV Max looks a whole lot better than the XUV400.

It has a single motor that drives the front wheels and offers range of 375 km. The second battery pack is the 39.4 kWh that produces the same power and torque, but has a range of 456 km. It has the same charging, same acceleration, and same top speed. The Nexon EV Max on the other hand is powered by 40.5 kWh battery pack that produces 141.04 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. It has a single motor that drives the front wheel and gives a range of 453 km. When it comes to features especially in the electric vehicles, you would really expect it to be feature-loaded since-you’re paying Rs. 20 lakhs and as you can see in the table, the XUV400 misses out on rear AC vents, cooled glovebox, auto-dimming IRVM, and ventilated seats.
