MG Motors has teased a special edition for it’s flagship SUV Gloster, Black Storm, which will launch on May 29th as this special edition could help boost sales.
MG Motors released a teaser across all of it’s social media platforms, Gloster Black Storm Special Edition, which will have a complete black shade with red highlights on the ORVMs, front and rear bumpers, headlights, door claddings, and in some other places with black storm badging on both the fenders side. The 4WD and ADAS badging can still be seen on the tailgate just like other variants. The interiors will be blacked out with red ambient lighting and red backlight illumination. Apart from these, rest everything remains the same, no additional features.
The MG Gloster is a 7-seater full-size SUV with loads of space on offer, and has two engine options – 2.0-litre turbo diesel and 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel.

The MG Gloster is powered by 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that pumps out 212.55 bhp and 478.5 Nm of torque mated to a 8-speed Automatic Gearbox with fuel efficiency of 13.92 km/l and has a top speed of 177 kmph. Then there is the 2.0-litre turbo engine that pumps out 158.79 bhp and 373.5 Nm of torque mated to a 8-speed Automatic Gearbox.
The Gloster has features such as Level 1 ADAS that consists of Adaptive Cruise Control, Auto Emergency Brake, Automatic Parking Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Forward Collision Warning, and Lane Departure Warning. It has other features such as 3-zone climate control, ventilated and heated seats, powered driver seats with memory function, panoramic sunroof, 12-speaker sound system, electric tailgate, 360-degree camera, and so much more.
MG Motors isn’t the first carmaker in India to sell special editions and certainly won’t be the last. Tata Motors has been offering Dark Editions for it’s vehicles for quite some time and they’re successful as it helps them increase sales of their vehicles. Full Black vehicles is something that appeals to the Indian Market making them buy those vehicles. MG wants to keep with the trend as well by introducing the Black Storm Edition on May 29th.
