1. Maruti Alto
In December 2018, Maruti Alto regained its no. 1 spot.The twins sales accounted for around 25,121 units.Maruti Alto was offered at very nominal price in December 2018 thanks to great year end deals and offers.Alto has been for a long time as of now in the Indian market and Maruti Suzuki India Limited will bring all new alto 2019 in H2 2019.Alto 2019 will be powered by BS-VI 800 cc and 1000 cc with major updates and price starting from as low as Rs. 2.2 Lakhs.
2. Maruti Dzire
Maruti Dzire, one of the premium sedan with high fuel efficiency and premium equipment range sold around 16,797 units.Maruti Dzire have always remained in the top 3 spots and in this month when the sales figures were low for every carmaker, Dzire still managed to grab the second spot and this is also due to discounts offered on both Dzire petrol and diesel variants.
3. Hyundai I20
Surprisingly, a Hyundai car has grabbed the 3rd spot.Although the sales of Hyundai Elite i20 has remained although the same, while the sales of other top cars have declined.The total units of Hyundai Elite i20 sold in the month of December 2018 were 11,940.Elite i20 received a facelift last year with cosmetic changes and also introduction of CVT in petrol.One of the most premium hatchbacks in the country is powered by 1.2-litre VTVT engine and 1.4-litre BS-IV diesel motor.
4. Maruti Swift
Maruti Suzuki Swift, which has an average sales figure of 16,000-17,000 units has gone down to 11,790 units in the last month of 2018.Swift hatchback which is due for it’s facelift in 2020 which will only then be limited to new petrol hybrid engine is likely to take over its position in the coming months.
5. Hyundai Grand i10
Another Hyundai car coming in top 5 list is Hyundai Grand i10.Although Grand i10 averages at 13,000 units but in the month of December, total sales of Grand i10 has declined.Grand i10 accounted for a total of 11,450 units in December.New-generation Grand i10 is coming in India in the month of August with new exteriors and better safety kit.
6. Maruti Baleno
At 6, is the Maruti Baleno.Baleno, the fastest car to cross 3 lakh has dropped down to rank 6 in top selling cars list.The total units of Maruti Suzuki Baleno sold in December 2018 were 11,135.Baleno facelift will come with minor tweaks on the outside with certain features add-on and the launch is slated for February 2019.
7. Maruti Brezza
Maruti Brezza has been ruling the compact SUV segment since March 2016.This jam packed segment will be overloaded further with the launch of Hyundai Styx, Mahindra XUV300 and other new entrants.Inspite of so Many rivals, Brezza managed to sell 9,667 units in December 2018 and made to the rank 7.
8. Maruti Celerio
Maruti Celerio available in petrol and CNG averages at 8,500 units.But due to year end offers, Maruti managed to sale 9,000 units of Celerio in the last month of 2018.Maruti Celerio became the 7th Maruti car to enter into top 10 highest selling cars list in December 2018.
9. Maruti Eeco
Maruti Eeco is the 9th top selling car in the month of December 2018.After Maruti Celerio, Eeco with 8,532 units sold in the year end managed to grab the No. 9 spot in highest selling car list.With huge discounts and exchange bonus, Maruti Eeco managed to jump to No. 9 place.
10. Hyundai Creta
Hyundai Creta, the leader of the SUV segment witnessed decline in sales In December 2018 by quite a bit margin.With and average of 9000 units per month, Hyundai managed to sale around 7,631 units of Creta in 2018 December.Hyundai Creta comes at No. 10 spot in this month.
