MG Motors has launched a Special Edition for it’s Premium SUV, Gloster Black Storm, which is cosmetically changed from the outside and red accents from the inside.

MG Gloster Black Storm has launched at Rs. 40.39 lakh which is available in 6 and 7-seater configuration, and an 8-seater configuration will launch at a later date. The dimensions of the Gloster Black Storm remains unchanged; it has a length of 4985mm, width of 1926mm, and height of 1867mm. It has a wheelbase of 2950mm, Ground Clearance of 210mm, and fuel tank of 75 litres. Lastly, it has a boot space of 343 litres, and kerb weight of 2,600 kg.

The Black Storm has a new front face with all-black exterior look with red highlights on the ORVMs, front and rear bumpers, headlights, door claddings, and in some other places with black storm badging on both the fenders side. The 4WD and ADAS badging can still be seen on the tailgate just like other variants. The interiors will be blacked out with red ambient lighting and red backlight illumination. Apart from these, rest everything remains the same, no additional features. The Gloster Black Storm has two color options – Metal Black and Metal Ash with black element for roof rails, taillamps, headlamps, window trim, fog lamp housing, and alloy wheels to complete the Blackstorm treatment.

MG Motors isn’t the first carmaker in India to sell special editions and certainly won’t be the last. Tata Motors has been offering Dark Editions for it’s vehicles for quite some time and they’re successful as it helps them increase sales of their vehicles. Maruti Suzuki has Black Edition for all it’s Arena models, and Volkswagen has a ‘Deep Black Pearl’ Edition to boost sales. MG Motors wants to keep up with this trend and therefore launched the Black Storm Edition to also boost sales of it’s premium SUV.

The MG Gloster is a 7-seater full-size SUV with loads of space on offer, and has two engine options – 2.0-litre turbo diesel and 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel.

The MG Gloster Black Storm is powered by 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that pumps out 212.55 bhp and 478.5 Nm of torque mated to a 8-speed Automatic Gearbox with fuel efficiency of 13.92 km/l and has a top speed of 177 kmph. Then there is the 2.0-litre turbo engine that pumps out 158.79 bhp and 373.5 Nm of torque mated to a 8-speed Automatic Gearbox.

The Gloster has features such as Level 1 ADAS that consists of Adaptive Cruise Control, Auto Emergency Brake, Automatic Parking Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Forward Collision Warning, and Lane Departure Warning. It has other features such as 3-zone climate control, ventilated and heated seats, powered driver seats with memory function, panoramic sunroof, 12-speaker sound system, electric tailgate, 360-degree camera, and so much more.

MG Motors priced the Gloster Black Storm at Rs. 40.39 lakh for the 6-seater and 7-seater 2WD variants, and Rs. 43.08 lakh for the 4WD 6-seater and 7-seater variant. The top variant, 7-seater and 8-seater Savvy is priced at Rs. 41.77 lakh.
