A recent video highlights a distressing experience faced by a new Mahindra Scorpio-N owner. The customer, who purchased the SUV from a Mahindra authorized dealership in Delhi, shared his ordeal just hours after taking delivery.According to the customer, he was driving home with his family when the brand-new Scorpio-N started malfunctioning. The SUV’s instrument cluster and infotainment system suddenly lit up with numerous error messages, resembling a “Christmas tree.” The vehicle began starting and shutting down on its own, with the infotainment screen displaying warnings and notifications in quick succession.
The situation escalated rapidly, leaving the customer with no time to pull over safely. When attempting to engage the reverse gear, a message appeared on the screen instructing the driver to visit the service center. Ultimately, the SUV refused to start altogether, forcing the owner and a nearby police officer to manually push the vehicle to the side of the road. This incident occurred just hours after the customer had taken delivery of the SUV, adding to the mental distress he endured. The video shows the SUV being loaded onto a flatbed truck, likely headed back to the dealership or service center. The customer reported that, despite the severity of the issue, the dealership or service center staff had not provided a satisfactory resolution at the time of recording. Notably, the customer had chosen a higher variant of the Mahindra Scorpio-N.This incident raises concerns about the quality control and customer service standards for one of Mahindra’s flagship models, especially in light of the growing competition in the Indian SUV market.
The incident involving the new Mahindra Scorpio-N underscores the critical importance of quality control, especially for vehicles that serve as flagship models in a competitive market. For a customer to experience such severe issues just hours after taking delivery not only impacts brand trust but also raises questions about the overall reliability of the product. As Mahindra continues to expand its presence in the Indian SUV market, addressing such concerns promptly and effectively will be crucial to maintaining customer confidence and brand reputation.
