This upcoming 5-door off-roader, seen in a mid-spec variant, is already generating buzz despite missing some high-end features like a panoramic sunroof, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), and a 360-degree camera. The Mahindra Thar Roxx, while sharing its dashboard design with the standard Thar, adds several impressive upgrades. The interior sports the same passenger-side grab bar and circular AC vents but boasts a larger infotainment touchscreen, likely a 10.25-inch unit, compared to the 7-inch one in the 3-door model. The mid-spec variant features a standard air-con system, analogue dials with a digital MID, and steering-mounted controls for infotainment and cruise control. The steering wheel is borrowed from Mahindra’s flagship SUV, the XUV700, ensuring a premium feel.
Additional features include individual armrests for the front seats and a center armrest in the reclining rear bench seat, providing extra comfort for passengers. Safety is enhanced with three-point seat belts and adjustable headrests for all five passengers. The rear passengers benefit from rear AC vents and roof-mounted rear speakers, enhancing comfort and audio experience. The Thar Roxx also comes with power windows and a single-pane sunroof, adding to its list of practical features.
The Thar Roxx mid-spec variant shown in the images comes with a manual gearbox and lacks the 4×4 running gear, which will be available on higher variants. Buyers can choose from three engine options: an entry-level 1.5-litre diesel, a 2.2-litre diesel, and a 2.0-litre petrol, with the options for 6 Speed Manual and Automatic Transmissions. With prices for the Mahindra Thar 3-door ranging from Rs 11.35 lakh to Rs 17.60 lakh, the Thar Roxx is expected to be priced between Rs 13 lakh and Rs 20 lakh. As the official launch date nears, more detailed specifications and features will be revealed, making this an eagerly awaited addition to the off-roader segment.
With the Thar Roxx, it’s evident Mahindra want’s to take the world by storm by offering premium features with its off-road focused SUV which should be having features like the XUV700 and improved off-road performance over the standard Thar.
Stay tuned for the full unveiling of the Mahindra Thar Roxx on August 15, and get ready for an exciting new chapter in the world of adventure vehicles!
