Tata Harrier,one of the most anticipated upcoming Indian SUV will debut in India on January 20,2019.Official booking of the Harrier SUV will begin from October 15,2018 onwards.

Harrier will carry a price tag of Rs. 13.5 Lakhs – Rs. 18 Lakhs (Prices,Ex-Showroom).When all the registration charges along with insurance,road tax and other charges are included then the on-road price of Harrier is expected to start from Rs. 16 Lakhs and go upto Rs. 21 Lakhs for the top-spec fully loaded variant.
Tata Harrier will get a single powertrain in the form of 2.0-litre Fiat-sourced diesel engine with 138 BHP of power.This unit will be paired to a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission with the option of both Front-wheel drive and All-Wheel drive.
Tata Harrier will rival the likes of Jeep Compass and Hyundai Creta.While Harrier competes directly with Compass 2.0-litre fiat sourced diesel engine, it will also rival with the Creta’s powerful 1.6-litre diesel engine.
When we compare the diesel motors of Compass and Harrier, it is the Compass which is more powerful with 171 BHP of power when compared to 138 BHP power unit of Harrier’s 2.0-litre diesel unit.Albeit the Compass diesel is presently offered with only 6-speed manual gearbox which will surely provide Harrier advantage.
Jeep may launch automatic gearbox for Compass diesel in early next year.Also,Jeep Compass is expensive when compared with Tata Harrier, with the price difference of around Rs. 2 Lakhs – 3 Lakhs
The difference between the power output of Creta and Harrier is not that much with Creta making 126 BHP of power when compared to sightly more powerful 138 BHP power unit of Harrier.Both Creta and Harrier gets both 6-speed manual and automatic transmission for its diesel engine.
Tata Harrier will be available in two seating layout – 5 Seater and 7 Seater.The Seven-Seater version of the SUV will be introduced later after the launch of 5 seater one.
Harrier will be based on Tata Motors OMEGA platform which also underpins the Discovery Sport.
Along with this, Tata Harrier will features Tata’s Impact Design Language 2.0.Harrier will sport big wheel arches, slim headlamps, muscular front fascia, floating roof.
Harrier SUV will be loaded with lots of premium features including Sunroof, Rear A/C Vents, Steering Mounted Controls, Large Infotainment System, Powered Driver Seat, Dual Tone Interiors with support of different connectivity options.
Lots of Storage spaces will be offered including overhead spaces.Map pockets and bottle holders will be there along with large storage are beneath the handbrake.Along with this rear and front armrest will be offered with storage.
