The Nexon i-CNG, a new offering from Tata, will soon be available for the Indian market, allowing it to further diversify its CNG portfolio. With its third CNG offering, Tata is set to provide a formidable rival to its competitors.
Similar to the current generation of Nexon’s on sale, the next Nexon i-CNG will be identical. There won’t be any internal or external designer modifications. It will have the same sleek, contemporary appearance as the latest generation of Tata cars, with a thin strip of LED up front, projectors mounted on the bumper with an elegant alloy design, and a crisp connecting LED with a powerful rear design in the back. With the exception of the new i-cng switch and cng level indication on the Digital Instrument Cluster, the interior will be the same as the current Nexon. This will have a spare wheel positioned beneath the body and a dual-CNG tank arrangement for a flat boot space. Fast CNG refiling with its NGV1 nozzle and the car beginning in CNG mode are two features of this technology.
For this i-CNG variation, Tata will come up with a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine, which will make it the first CNG SUV with a turbo-petrol option. The Nexon’s engine produces 120 horsepower and 170 Nm of peak torque. Tata’s first offering will probably be a 6-speed manual gearbox, but it may also include an AMT variant in the future, similar to the Tigor & Tiago Cng AMT that was recently unveiled.
