Hyundai had 2 sedans in top 5 sedans sales in March 2023!

Maruti Suzuki Sedan, Dzire, was the most selling sedan in India in March 2023 followed by the Aura at 2nd position in the sales.

In the top 5 selling sedans sales in India in March 2023, Two Hyundai Cars dominate the list, but at first, is the Maruti Suzuki Dzire which sold 13,394 units in March 2023 which is year-on-year decline by 28.07% against the 18,623 units in March 2022 with decreased volume growth by 5,229 units. Then next at 2nd position, is the Hyundai Aura that had recently got updated and thus sold 3,774 units in March 2023 against the 3,775 units in March 2022 which is decreased year-on-year growth by 0.002% with just 1 unit difference.

At 3rd position is again an Hyundai, which is the new-gen Verna launched almost a month ago, as it sold 3,755 units in March 2023 which is year-on-year growth by 433.02% against the 1,586 units in March 2022 with increased volume growth by 2,169 units. At 4th position is the Honda City which sold 2,693 units in March 2023 against the 3,225 units in March 2022 resulting in year-on-year decline in sales by 16.49% with decreased growth by 532 units. Last is the Volkswagen Virtus as it sold 1,792 units in March 2023 with no sales in March 2022 as the Virtus was launched in June 2022.

As you can see at the table, when the March 2023 data is compared to the February 2023, the Dzire is still the most selling sedan, however, the March 2023 sales compared to February 2023, the Dzire suffers month-on-month loss by 20.26% with decreased volume growth by 3,404 units. Hyundai Aura at 2nd position in March 2023 when compared to February 2023, suffers month-on-month loss by 31.67% with decreased volume growth by 1,750.

At 3rd position is the Hyundai Verna, when compared to February 2023, it shows 7889.3% month-on-month growth by 3,708 units. The next is the Honda City who is at 4th position and reports 37.18% month-on-month growth with increased volume growth by 730 units. At last position, the Volkswagen Virtus and reports positive numbers as it shows month-on-month growth by 14.65% with increased volume growth by 229 units.
