In terms of engine options, while the current-gen Amaze offers a 1.2 L 4 Cylinder Petrol Engine producing 88.50 BHP and 110 NM of torque mated to a 5 Speed MT and 7 Speed CVT, the new iteration won’t feature a diesel engine variant. However, there’s speculation that Honda might introduce a CNG option for improved fuel efficiency.
Built on the ACE platform, shared with the City and the Elevate, the new Amaze is expected to inherit design cues from the City or possibly bear resemblance to the international Accord model. Drawing inspiration from the second-gen Amaze, which took cues from the Accord, the third-gen model could feature a redesigned grille with a hexagonal-like pattern, sleeker LED headlamps with thinner DRLs, and more aggressive bumpers.
Internally, a fresh design layout is anticipated, possibly incorporating a free-standing 8-inch infotainment system akin to the Accord. While similarities to the City’s interior layout are also plausible, specifics remain speculative for now.
The new Honda Amaze will compete with the Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor, and the upcoming next-gen Maruti Dzire.
