Mahindra’s newly launched BE 6 and XEV 9e electric SUVs have achieved an impressive milestone, securing 30,179 bookings on the first day. The booking split stands at 56% for the XEV 9e and 44% for the BE 6. Notably, the Pack Three variant, featuring a 79kWh battery, emerged as the most popular choice, accounting for 73% of total bookings.

Unprecedented Demand for Mahindra’s Electric SUVs

Considering that India’s total electric car sales in 2024 were around 1 lakh units, Mahindra’s record-breaking day 1 bookings underline the strong demand for premium electric SUVs. The combined booking value, based on ex-showroom prices, stands at Rs 8,472 crore.

Among the two SUVs, the XEV 9e secured over 16,900 bookings, even surpassing the MG Windsor EV’s record of 15,000 day-one bookings, despite having a higher price tag. The BE 6 recorded 13,279 bookings, reinforcing Mahindra’s growing dominance in India’s EV segment.

Mahindra BE 6 & XEV 9e: Battery Packs, Range & Performance

Both SUVs are available in two battery options:

• 59kWh battery – Powers a 231hp, 380Nm rear-mounted motor.
• 79kWh battery – Offers 286hp and 380Nm, providing a higher range.

Mahindra has also revealed the ARAI-certified range:

• BE 6: 556km (59kWh), 682km (79kWh)
• XEV 9e: 542km (59kWh), 656km (79kWh)

Mahindra estimates a real-world city range of 500+ km with AC on for both models.

Charging Times

• 7.2kW AC charger: 8.7 hours (59kWh), 11.7 hours (79kWh)
• 11.2kW AC charger: 6 hours (59kWh), 8 hours (79kWh)
• DC fast charger: 20 minutes for 80% charge (140kW for BE 6, 175kW for XEV 9e)

Delivery Timeline & Production Capacity

Mahindra has set a phased delivery plan based on variant selection:

• Pack Three (79kWh) – Deliveries start in mid-March 2025
• Pack Three Select (59kWh) – June 2025
• Pack Two (59kWh) – July 2025
• Pack One (59kWh) – August 2025

Mahindra’s monthly production capacity is capped at 5,000 units, ensuring a structured delivery process.
