Skoda has unveiled more images and details about the upcoming all-new dedicated-electric mid-size SUV, Skoda Elroq ahead of its global reveal in spring, revealing substantial details. Destined to be an EV-only counterpart and eventual replacement for the Skoda Karoq, the Elroq is based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB EV platform and will launch with four distinct powertrains: 50, 60, 85, and 85x. - 50: 55kWh battery, 125kW [167.62 BHP] Single Motor
- 60: 63kWh battery, 150kW [201.15 BHP] Single Motor
- 85: 82kWh battery, 210kW [281.61 BHP] Single Motor
- 85x: 82kWh battery, 220kW [295.02 BHP] Dual-Motor
While Skoda has not yet detailed the WLTP ranges for each system, the most efficient version is expected to achieve a maximum range of 560km. Additionally, a hot RS performance variant is planned for future release. In terms of charging, only the 82kWh battery details have been shared, featuring a maximum DC fast-charging power of 175kW (10-80% in 28 minutes) and a maximum AC power of 11kW (0-100% in 5 hours 30 minutes).

Although specific dimensions are not yet available, Skoda states the Elroq has a drag coefficient of 0.26Cd and can hold up to 470 Litres of cargo behind the rear seats, expandable to 1580 Litres with the second row folded flat. The cabin offers an additional 48 Litres of storage, including a storage net for the charging cable under the adjustable parcel shelf, instructional QR codes for new owners, and extra boot compartments.
Key equipment highlights across the range include: Alloy wheels (19-21 inches), 5-inch digital instrument cluster, 13-inch infotainment interface, Heads-Up Display (HUD), ‘Recytitan’ upholstery for door panels, seats, dashboard, center armrest, and knee pads, Full LED exterior lighting setup, etc. Safety features and driver aids will include: Travel Assist, Intelligent Park Assist with Remote Parking and Remote Trained Parking (automated parking), Nine airbags, etc.
Klaus Zellmer, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Skoda Auto said, “Growing our electric portfolio into several attractive new segments is key to our strategy of providing our customers a wide choice of new models to choose from and to the continued success of Skoda Auto. The Elroq is a milestone in our BEV portfolio, the first in a coming line-up of six new fully electric models, following the success of the Enyaq and Enyaq Coupe.”
Since its a global product, Skoda could eventually bring the electric SUV in India in late 2025 or sometime in 2026 and position it below the Enyaq 80x which is scheduled to launch in India before the end of this year.
