Tata Curvv vs Kia Seltos – Exterior and Interior


The Tata Curvv from the outside has vertically-split headlamps at the front with a sharp styling with striking, minimalistic, yet future design which Tata calls it as “New Digital Design Language.” It has a sloping coupe-like roofline similar to the BMW X6, or Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe, which integrates into the tailgate of the Curvv. From the side, it has body cladding, square-shape wheel arches, and rides on 18-inch alloy wheels. Moving to the rear, the connected LED taillamps theme continues and skid plates at the front and rear for bumpers.


From the outside, the Kia Seltos has the Kia’s signature nose grille which is basically having hexagonal shape in the grille, quad-cube shape LED headlamps with curved L shaped indicators below the headlamps and the fog lamps are LED in cube-shape positioned vertically. The front nose of the Seltos is covered by the Chrome that contributes towards the front design of the SUV. The bumpers of the SUV are skid plate finished in white. The bumpers has cuts for the aggressive look. Moving to the side, it has thin wheel cladding for the 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails on the top, chrome line on the bottom of the window lamp that extends till the D-pillar. From the rear, it has LED taillamps that a chrome bar with KIA logo at the center, roof spoiler and shark fin on top, and rear wipers on the rear windscreen.


From the inside, the Curvv gets a three-layer dashboard with a 10.25-inch rectangle infotainment system, full digital instrument cluster which could be same as the one seen in Tata Harrier and Safari, two-spoke multi-function steering wheel, and it has touch-sensitive controls for the climate control. It has a Steptronic Automatic Gearbox lever with some inserts around the seats. The seatbelts were finished in red just the exterior.
For the Seltos, it has the 10.25-inch infotainment system integrated with the Semi-Digital instrument cluster for one seamless display. The infotainment system is placed above the AC Vents and the AC Vents at the sides are positioned vertically. The Seltos doesn’t have the dual-tone dashboard theme option unfortunately. It has three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, single-pane sunroof, and metallic finish on the pedals. Tt has rotary dial for drive modes, buttons for ventilated seats, wireless charging pad, air purifier, two charging ports at the front and rear, and sun-blinds for all the windows. The rear seats are split in 60:40 ratio with recline option as well. It also has ambient lighting inside with 64 colors option. The Seltos has the 8-speaker Bose sound system.

In Engine Options, Tata Curvv will be powered by the 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine producing 123.29 bhp and 225 Nm of torque paired to a 6-speed Manual and 6-speed Automatic Gearbox. The Seltos has the 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that puts out 113.43 bhp and 144 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed Manual and IVT Gearbox with 16.8 kmpl fuel efficiency.

While we don’t know if Tata Curvv will have diesel engine or not, the Seltos has a diesel powertrain as well. The 1.5-litre diesel produces 113.48 bhp and 250 Nm of torque paired to a 6-speed iMT Gearbox with 21 kmpl fuel efficiency and 6-speed Automatic Gearbox with fuel efficiency of 18 kmpl.

When it comes to Features, Tata Curvv will have features such as ventilated seats, 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, six airbags, electric parking brake with auto hold function, 10.25-inch infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, leather seat upholstery, LED Projector headlamps, Wireless Android Auto/Apple Carplay, Electrically adjustable front seats, ambient lighting, 18-inch alloy wheels, wireless charging, air purifier, and flush door handles.

The Kia Seltos starts at Rs. 10.89 lakh for the entry-level ‘HTE’ variant and goes up to Rs. 19.65 lakh for the top variant, ‘X-Line Automatic’ Diesel and as for the Tata Curvv, it is expected to be priced at Rs. 10.50 lakh.
In the end, the decision to buy which model depends totally on you, however, it is recommended to wait for the launch of the Tata Curvv as it’s going to launch in 2024 with features similar and better than the Seltos. If you don’t want to wait till 2024 for Curvv, then you can go ahead and buy the Kia Seltos as it’s loaded with features as well as it has good mileage, good on safety, and good on space and comfort.
