Tata Curvv vs Toyota Hyryder – Exterior and Interior

The Tata Curvv from the outside has vertically-split headlamps at the front with a sharp styling with striking, minimalistic, yet future design which Tata calls it as “New Digital Design Language.” It has a sloping coupe-like roofline similar to the BMW X6, or Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe, which integrates into the tailgate of the Curvv. From the side, it has body cladding, square-shape wheel arches, and rides on 18-inch alloy wheels. Moving to the rear, the connected LED taillamps theme continues and skid plates at the front and rear for bumpers.

At the front, the Hyryder has blacked out element with chrome line that is connected at both the sides of LED lights, chrome inserts around the fog lamps with rounded square grille and the bumper both at the front and rear finished in faux silver skid plate. Moving to the side, it has chrome line at the bottom window frame, cuts on the doors with 17-inch alloy wheels, and non-functional roof rails contributing towards the design. At the rear, it has LED taillamps joining the chrome line with Toyota logo and reverse parking light with indicators above it are vertically positioned.

From the inside, the Curvv gets a three-layer dashboard with a 10.25-inch rectangle infotainment system, full digital instrument cluster which could be same as the one seen in Tata Harrier and Safari, two-spoke multi-function steering wheel, and it has touch-sensitive controls for the climate control. It has a Steptronic Automatic Gearbox lever with some inserts around the seats. The seatbelts were finished in red just the exterior.

From the inside, the Hyryder has a 9-inch infotainment system placed above the AC vents and the AC vents at the sides positioned horizontally. It does have the dual-tone dashboard theme option as well with leather seat upholstery. The Hyryder has a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster although the image you’re seeing has Analog instrument cluster which is available in all the variants except the top variant. The Hyryder has two USB ports at the front and rear, buttons for ventilated seats, driver mode, and EV mode. The Hyryder also has a Heads-up Display top of the instrument cluster. At the rear, the seats are split in 60:40 ratio and it has a 6-speaker Arkamy’s sound system.

In Engine Options, Tata Curvv will be powered by the 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine producing 123.29 bhp and 225 Nm of torque paired to a 6-speed Manual and 6-speed Automatic Gearbox. The Hyryder is powered by a 1.5-litre K-Series petrol engine that puts out 101.64 bhp and 136.8 Nm of torque. It drives the front wheels via a 5-speed Manual Gearbox with 21.12 kmpl fuel efficiency and a 6-speed Automatic Gearbox with 20.58 kmpl fuel efficiency.

While we don’t know if Tata Curvv will get petrol-hybrid engine, but the Hyryder does get the petrol-hybrid. The 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid engine that pumps out 112.84 bhp and 141 Nm of torque mated to a eCVT Gearbox with 27.97 kmpl fuel efficiency.

In the end, the decision to buy which model depends totally on you, however, it is recommended to wait for the launch of the Tata Curvv as it’s going to launch in 2024 with features similar and better than the Hyryder. If you don’t want to wait till 2024 for Curvv, then you can go ahead and buy the Toyota Hyryder as it’s loaded with features as well as it has good mileage, good on safety, and good on space and comfort.
