Anyone looking for an urban EV has traditionally turned to the Nexon EV. The winning combination for the thousands of vehicles currently on the road includes the small size, a significant range for a week’s worth of driving, and the overall price to performance ratio. And with the launch of the “Max,” the Nexon EV hopes to widen its advantage and provide much more in the way of gear and the crucial range. However, the increased price and range also bring it closer to the MG ZS EV, which is its major opponent in the EV market.
INTERIORS
The variations are pretty noticeable on the inside. The ZS EV’s extra room is apparent, but the Nexon doesn’t feel constrained or uncomfortable. The black interiors of the ZS are undoubtedly simpler to maintain than the beige upholstery found in the Nexon Max, which also heightens the feeling of space. In terms of general quality, the ZS EV comes out on top. In comparison to the Nexon, the switchgear and fit-and-finish are superior, and it also has a premium feel. Although the Nexon has useful features like ventilated front seats, the ZS EV isn’t far behind in terms of features.

FEATURES
Important amenities like ventilated front seats are added to the Nexon, but the ZS EV isn’t far behind in terms of features. A panoramic sunroof that dwarfs the conventional sunroof in the Nexon is included, along with a larger touchscreen measuring 10.1 inches with a 360-degree parking camera, a fully digital instrument cluster that looks more contemporary than the semi-digital one, and more. The Nexon Max has two airbags as opposed to the ZS EV’s six, but both vehicles include other safety features like ABS with EBD, ESP, hill start/descent, and TPMS. Both have sunroof but zs ev has a panoramic one. Also both have wireless chargers, auto folding ORVM,s etc.
EXTERIOR
With its closed-off grille, the ZS ev’s overall look resembles an electric vehicle (EV) more than the Nexon. Additionally, you get larger 17-inch wheels as opposed to the 16-inch ones on the Tata, LED headlamps with DRLs instead of the Nexon’s halogen ones, and a more contemporary and up-to-date appearance all around. Having said that, not everyone likes the front-end and opinions are divided on it. The Nexon, on the other hand, has a very well-known design. There isn’t a closed-off grille present, but there are plenty of blue highlights indicating that this vehicle is an electric vehicle. Surprisingly, the Nexon doesn’t have a single emblem identifying it as a “Max.” Zooming in on the wheels, which have a distinct design and rear disc brakes, is the only way to determine that.

ENGINE
While the MG ZS EV draws its power from a 50.3 kWh battery, the Tata Nexon EV Max is propelled by a 40.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The MG ZS EV clearly has a bigger battery, which is why it has more power.
In comparison to the 174 PS produced by the MG ZS EV, the Nexon EV Max produces 143 PS of power. The MG ZS EV has a maximum torque of 280 Nm, which is 30 Nm greater than the Nexon EV Max. The top speed of both vehicles, however, is unchanged.
Range is now the deciding factor when purchasing an electric vehicle. The Nexon EV Max is claimed by Tata to have a 437 km ARAI-certified range, while the MG ZS EV can run for 461 km on a single charge.
