The front of the Punch has blacked out element that connects with the LED DRLs and Tata logo at the center. Below that is the tri-arrow grille that connects with the fog lamps and projector headlamps above them that are obviously halogen. At the side, there is slight cuts to have that punch look with 16-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, there is the tri-arrow treatment in the taillamps as well which are of course going to be LEDs and faux black skid plate.


At the front, the Swift has a big honeycomb grille for air intake for the engines and chrome strip at the center of the grille, with LED DRLs and LED projector headlamps but the fog lamps are halogens. From the side, it has alloy wheels with the door handles for the rear passengers at the window frame. Moving to the rear side, it gets LED taillamps but the indicators are halogen and a standard bumper with no changes or sportier look.


Both the cars get dual-tone interiors treatment, however the Punch has Semi-digital instrument cluster while the Swift have analog instrument cluster. Both the cars have three-spoke multi-function steering wheel. The Swift and Nexon both gets 7-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity with controls for the HVAC functions right below them.

As you can see at the Dimensions table, there is little difference between the two cars. The Punch has length of 3827mm which is 18mm less than the 3845mm of Maruti Swift. The Punch has 1742mm width which is 7mm more than the Swift’s 1735mm width. The Punch also has 1615mm height which is 85mm more than the Swift’s 1530mm height. However, the Swift has a longer wheelbase by 5mm as it’s got 2450mm wheelbase against the 2445mm wheelbase of the Punch. The Punch has got 187mm ground clearance which is 24mm more than the Swift 163mm ground clearance.
Also, the Punch has got 366 litres of boot space which is 98 litres more on offer than the Swift’s 268 litres boot space. The Punch has a fuel tank of 37 litres and has a currently no CNG option but’s it gonna launch later this year while the Swift has 37 litres petrol fuel tank and 55 litres of CNG tank. In the end, the decision to buy which model depends totally on you, however, we recommend the Punch over the Swift as it’s got more space and comfort on offer than the Swift and it’s feature-loaded and safer than the Swift.
