Maruti has begin the production of the 5-door Jimny with aim to build 1 lakh units every year from Gurugram plant.

Maruti Jimny 5-door production has begin at it’s Gurugram plant ahead of it’s June launch. Bookings for the Jimny started at the Auto Expo 2023 with bookings around 25,000 already.

Maruti Jimny 5-Door – What you need to know!

According to many sources, it is being reported that the Maruti could announce the pricing of the Jimny in the first week of June with deliveries beginning a week later. The Manual variants of the Jimny currently has a waiting period of six months while the Automatic variants has a waiting period between seven to eight months. The Jimny has 5 single tone colors – Sizzling Red, NEXA Blue, Bluish Black, Granite Grey, and Pearl Artic White and 2 dual-tone colors – Kinetic Yellow with Bluish Black roof, and Sizzling Red with Bluish Black Roof.

Maruti Suzuki aims to produce at least 1 lakh units annually with 66% for domestic sales and 34% will be exported to other international markets. Maruti also has plans to allocate 7,000 units month for it’s customers in India.

The Jimny has one petrol engine on offer for off-roading. The 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine puts out 103.39 bhp and 134.42 Nm of torque paired to a 5-speed Manual and 4-speed Torque Converter Automatic Gearbox. All variants of the Jimny will have the Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro 4WD with manual transfer case and low-range gearbox with 2WD-high, 4WD-high, and 4WD-low modes.

The Maruti Jimny 5-door in India currently has no direct rivals, but until the Mahindra and Force launches their 5-door version SUV, Jimny will compete with the 3-door Thar and Gurkha with pricing expected to be between Rs. 10 lakh – Rs. 13 lakh
