Maruti Suzuki just provided the best-in class sedan, Dzire a big update!

Maruti Suzuki has increased the prices of the new-generation Dzire, just three months after its launch in November 2024. The price hike affects multiple variants, with the highest increase of Rs. 10,000 applied to the VXi and ZXi trims equipped with a five-speed AMT. Other variants, including the entry-level LXi MT, VXi MT, VXi CNG MT, ZXi+ AMT, and ZXi CNG MT, have seen a price hike of Rs. 5,000. However, the top-spec ZXi+ MT remains unaffected.

Following this revision, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire now starts at Rs. 6.84 lakh for the base model and goes up to Rs. 10.19 lakh for the range-topping variant (ex-showroom). This increase comes as part of Maruti Suzuki’s broader price adjustments across its lineup.

Engine and Mileage Details

The new-generation Dzire is powered by the 1.2L Z12E three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, the same as found in the latest Swift. This unit produces 82 PS and 112 Nm of torque and is paired with a five-speed manual transmission as standard, with an optional five-speed AMT. Maruti Suzuki claims an impressive fuel efficiency of 24.79 kmpl for the manual version, while the AMT variant delivers 25.71 kmpl. The CNG-powered Dzire offers an even higher mileage of 33.73 km/kg but is available only with a manual gearbox.

Features and Safety Enhancements

The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire comes with a host of upgrades, setting it apart from its predecessor. The design now offers a more distinctive identity, differentiating it further from the Swift. The sedan is available in a range of colors, including Gallant Red, Pearl Arctic White, Splendid Silver, Magma Grey, Bluish Black, Nutmeg Brown, and Alluring Blue.

Inside, the Dzire boasts a triple-tone dashboard, a floating 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, automatic climate control, auto-fold ORVMs, rear AC vents, and a wireless charger. Higher variants also get a 360-degree camera system and an electric sunroof, making it one of the most feature-packed offerings in its segment.

On the safety front, the Dzire is equipped with six airbags as standard across all trims, along with ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC) with hill-hold assist, and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The sedan has earned a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP, further solidifying its reputation as a reliable and secure family car.

Competition and Market Standing

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire continues to dominate the compact sedan segment and recently crossed the three-million production milestone. Its main rivals include the new-generation Honda Amaze, which also witnessed a recent price hike, along with the Tata Tigor and Hyundai Aura.

Despite the price increase, the Dzire remains one of the best-selling sedans in India, offering a combination of fuel efficiency, modern features, and strong aftersales support, making it a preferred choice among buyers.
