Tata Nexon who already has 5 Stars Safety Rating both at Global and Bharat NCAP, has been shocked by this SUV which secured a perfect 5 Stars Safety Rating at Bharat NCAP in both Adult and Child Occupant Protection.

Mahindra back in May 2024 had launched the highly anticipated the XUV 3XO, previously known as the “XUV300”. The SUV despite being a sub 4-meter SUV, offered so much that it’s on par to compete with Compact SUV like Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, etc. The SUV comes equipped with features such as Panoramic Sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, Dual-zone Climate Control, Dual 10.25-inch displays, etc. Mahindra had sent the XUV3XO alongside the Thar Roxx, and the XUV400 EV for crash testing at the Bharat NCAP. Mahindra XUV 3XO – Adult Occupant Protection [AOP]

In the Adult Occupant Protection evaluation, the Mahindra XUV 3XO achieved a commendable score of 29.36 out of 32 points. The frontal offset deformable barrier test results showed good protection for the driver’s and passenger’s head and neck. The driver’s chest protection was rated as marginal, while the passenger’s chest received adequate protection. Lower leg protection was rated as adequate for both occupants, with no hazardous structures behind the dashboard posing significant risks.

The side movable deformable barrier test demonstrated excellent results, with the XUV 3XO achieving full marks. Good protection was observed for the head, chest, abdomen, and pelvis, indicating strong side impact safety. The side pole impact test confirmed that the vehicle provided good protection for the head, with adequate ratings for other parts of the body.

Mahindra XUV 3XO – Child Occupant Protection [COP]

The Mahindra XUV 3XO showcased strong performance in the Child Occupant Protection assessment, scoring 43.00 out of 49 points. The dynamic testing with child restraint systems (CRS) revealed high safety standards. The rearward-facing Britax Romer Dualfix Pro M child seat for an 18-month-old provided maximum protection, scoring 8.00 out of 8.00. The same seat configuration for a 3-year-old also secured top marks, ensuring safety in both frontal and side impact scenarios.

The second-row outboard seats come equipped with standard ISOFIX anchor points and i-Size compatibility, ensuring secure CRS installation. However, the front passenger seat lacks ISOFIX, i-Size, and integrated CRS features. The CRS installation assessment highlighted ease of use and effective fitment across multiple seat types, contributing to the XUV 3XO’s robust child safety score.
