In change of events, Tata Tiago EV outsold the Nexon EV in second quarter to be come the best-selling electric vehicle in Q2 of 2023 as they reported 10,695 units over the latter’s 5,072 units.

The second quarter of 2023 was dominated by Tata Motors as the Tiago EV became the best-selling EV with 10,695 unit sale. The Tiago EV was launched back in September 2022 with deliveries started from earlier this year. The electric hatchback outsold the electric SUV Nexon EV by 5,623 units which is 110% more sales than the latter. The Tiago EV comes with two battery pack – 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh with range of 250 km and 315 km respectively. The electric SUV Nexon EV at 2nd position sold 5,072 units followed by the electric sedan, Tigor EV with 3,257 unit sales at 3rd position.
Mahindra XUV400 at 4th position performed decently with sales of 2,234 units. The XUV400 comes in two battery packs – 34.5 kWh with claimed range of 375 km, and 39.4 kWh with claimed range of 456 km. Next is the recently launched MG Comet EV with Q2 2023 sales of 1,914 units followed by the MG ZS EV with 1,747 unit sales. The MG Comet EV is a sub 3-meter EV with 17.3 kWh battery pack and range of 230 km. It has dual 10.25-inch displays with wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto, but no automatic climate control.
MG also recently updated the ZS EV with a new variant, “Exclusive Pro” that comes with Level 2 ADAS is available for limited-time. It now comes with ADAS features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Bend Cruise Assistance, Emergency Lane Keep, Information Mode (Speed Warning Mode), Manual Mode, Intelligent Mode, Front Collision Prevention functions, Rear Drive Assist, and other features.
The Citroen eC3 at 7th position sold 576 units as it launched a few months ago. The electric SUV BYD Atto 3 at 8th position sold 412 units with 60.48 kWh battery pack and claimed range of 521 km. Next is the sportier and luxurious EV from Kia, the EV6 sold 279 units followed by the Hyundai Kona EV at last position with 159 units.
