Tata Motors is now almost regularly seen testing the Safari Facelift as they’re gearing up for the expected October 2023 launch. The Facelift update will see Tata making exterior and interior changes, and it’ll also introduce some new features for the SUV. Recently, the Safari Facelift interiors were leaked and it revealed some interesting things that you should know. Here are the top 5 things about the upcoming Hector-rival you should probably know about.

Exterior Changes

The upcoming Safari facelift will sport new front face that’ll be inspired from the Harrier EV, revised taillamps at the rear with an LED light bar connecting the LED taillamps. The side profile will see no changes except it could boast new sets of alloy wheels; other than that, nothing major change will be observed on the outside.

Interior Changes

From the inside, it’ll get new digital instrument cluster and a new four-spoke steering wheel with an display on it that’ll sport touch-sensitive buttons with haptic feedback to control the instrument cluster and few functions of the infotainment system. It’ll also get a new screen on the center console for the climate control, new sharper 10.25-inch infotainment system, and a new Steptronic gear shifter. Rest everything will remain the same.

New Powertrain

Tata Motors is said to be bringing in a new turbo petrol powertrain for the Safari Facelift. It’ll be a 1.5-litre turbo petrol 4-cylinder engine producing 168 bhp and 280 Nm of torque mated to 6-speed Manual and 6-speed torque converter Automatic gearbox.

New Features

The current Safari is already pretty loaded with features such as ventilated seats for front and second row passengers, panoramic sunroof, 10.25-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, voice commands, air purifier, 9-speaker JBL sound system, 6-Way Powered Driver Seat, 4-Way Powered Passenger Seat, and many more. In the facelift, Tata Motors is expected to add even more such as Dual-Zone Climate Control, multi-color ambient lights, Sharper 10.25-inch infotainment system, paddle shifters, and few more.

Increased Safety

The current Safari comes with safety features such as six airbags, 360-degree camera with rear parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, TPMS, ABS with EBD, ESC, Hill Assist, Traction Control, Disc Brakes, ISOFIX anchorages, automatic headlamps, and Level 1 ADAS with features like Forward Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Traffic Sign Recognition, High Beam Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Alert, Door Open Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Rear Collision Warning.

The Facelift Safari will see addition of front-parking sensors, park assist, and few new Level 2 ADAS features like the Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and few more.
