Toyota Fortuner is one of the best-selling Full-Size SUV in India and the sales it generates, none of it competitors has come close to even challenging!

Toyota Fortuner recorded total sales of 33,597 units in 2024, maintaining its dominance in the full-size SUV segment. Despite facing competition from rivals like the Jeep Meridian, MG Gloster, and Skoda Kodiaq, the Fortuner remained the undisputed leader in its category.

January started with 3,213 units, followed by a steady increase in February with 3,395 units (+5.66%). March continued this trend with 3,621 units (+6.66%). However, April saw a sharp decline to 2,325 units (-35.79%). At this time, Toyota launched the Leader Edition which were based on the Diesel 4×2 variants. May recorded a slight recovery with 2,422 units (+4.17%), followed by a bigger increase in June at 2,675 units (+10.45%). Sales dropped again in July to 2,380 units (-11.03%) and continued declining in August to 2,338 units (-1.76%). September saw a modest recovery with 2,473 units (+5.78%), but October witnessed a massive spike to 3,684 units (+48.98%), marking the highest sales month of the year. November declined to 2,865 units (-22.23%), and December ended with 2,206 units (-23.01%).

Despite having an aging design and interiors, the Toyota Fortuner continues to dominate the segment due to Toyota’s unmatched reliability, powerful engine choices, and strong resale value. The 2.8L diesel and 2.7L petrol engines offer best-in-class performance, making it a preferred choice for buyers seeking a tough and capable SUV.

Its spacious cabin, commanding road presence, and Toyota’s service network further solidify its appeal. Even with growing competition from the Jeep Meridian, MG Gloster, and Skoda Kodiaq, the Fortuner continues to outsell them significantly, proving its status as the segment leader.
