Urban Cruiser Hyryder vs Kushaq – Exterior and Interior


At the front, the Hyryder has blacked out element with chrome line that is connected at both the sides of LED lights, chrome inserts around the fog lamps with rounded square grille and the bumper both at the front and rear finished in faux silver skid plate. Moving to the side, it has chrome line at the bottom window frame and cuts on the doors with 17-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, it has LED taillamps joining the chrome line with Toyota logo.


At the front of the Kushaq, you can see it has the same design language it has on other cars like the Skoda Slavia and Skoda Kodiaq. The bonnet has cuts and creases to make it look slightly sporty. The bumper is finished in silver faux skid plate. Moving to the side, the creases are present with 16-inch alloy wheels and roof-rails at the top. At the rear, it has L-shaped LED taillamps with bulb indicators and chrome-line that runs across the tailgate.


The interiors of the both the cars are simple. However, the Hyryder interior layout is the same as the Grand Vitara’s one except only badging is different. The Hyryder has 9-inch Infotainment system with horizontal air vents below them and auto climate controls below that while the Kushaq has 8-inch Infotainment system with AC vents in horizontal position and auto climate below that. The Kushaq has two-spoke multi-function steering wheel with 3.5-inch TFT unit in the instrument cluster and analog dials for speedometer and odometer. While the Hyryder has 7-inch digital instrument cluster, while other mid-variants get TFT unit at the center with analog dials. Both the cars have the dual-tone interior option.

However, the Hyryder has a wheelbase of 2600mm which is 51mm less than the Kushaq’s 2651mm wheelbase.
The Hyryder has a ground clearance of 208mm which is 20mm more than the Kushaq’s 188mm ground clearance. The Hyryder has two petrol and one CNG engines on offer. The Skoda Kushaq has two petrol engines on offer and no diesel engines. The 1.0-litre petrol engine produces 113.98 bhp and 141 Nm of torque paired to a 6-speed Manual Transmission and 6-speed Automatic Transmission with fuel efficiency of 19.2 km/l for Manual and 17.2 km/l for the Automatic. Then there is the 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine that pumps out 147.51 bhp and 250 Nm of torque with 6-speed Manual Transmission and 7-speed DSG Transmission with fuel efficiency of 17.95 km/l in Manual and 17.7 km/l for the Automatic.

As you can see at the features list, Kushaq has missing and few features better offered by Toyota. Skoda Kushaq, misses out on panoramic sunroof, has 8-inch infotainment system instead of 9 or 10.25-inch infotainment system.

As you can see at the safety features, Kushaq misses out on features such as 360-degree camera, and Heads-up Display. However, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder also misses out on feature which is the traction control.
