Mahindra at the launch of the BE.6e and XEV.9e revealed the delivery timeline of the two SUVs
Mahindra has unveiled its latest all-electric SUVs, the BE 6e and XEV 9e, bringing cutting-edge features and futuristic designs that rival premium EV offerings from top brands. With introductory prices starting at Rs. 18.90 lakh for the BE 6e and Rs. 21.90 lakh for the XEV 9e (ex-showroom), these SUVs mark a significant step in Mahindra’s electric vehicle journey.
Launch and Delivery Timeline
Both SUVs will arrive at Mahindra dealerships by the end of January 2025, with deliveries set to commence between February and March 2025. Mahindra is expected to showcase these models and announce full variant-wise pricing at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025.
Futuristic Design and Exterior Highlights
The BE 6e and XEV 9e boast unique and aggressive styling elements.
- BE 6e: Features C-shaped LED DRLs and horizontally aligned projector headlights.
- XEV 9e: Sports inverted L-shaped LED DRLs, a connected LED light strip, and vertically stacked projector headlights.
Both models come with 19-inch aerodynamically designed alloy wheels, with an optional 20-inch setup for higher trims. Additional design elements include flush door handles, rear handles integrated into the C-pillars, a roof-mounted spoiler, and a shark-fin antenna.
Luxurious and Tech-Loaded Interiors
Inside, both EVs feature a minimalistic yet futuristic cabin design.
- The BE 6e comes with a dual-screen setup and grey seat upholstery.
- The XEV 9e stands out with a triple-screen layout, including a co-driver entertainment screen, and a dual-tone interior theme.

- Illuminated two-spoke steering wheel (Infinity logo for the XEV 9e and BE logo for the BE 6e).
- Panoramic glass roof with ambient lighting.
- 3 Wireless phone chargers [2 for BE.6e]

Performance and Range
The BE 6e and XEV 9e share Mahindra’s INGLO platform, offering two battery pack options:
- 59 kWh battery paired with a 228 bhp motor.
- 79 kWh battery paired with a 282 bhp motor.
Both SUVs deliver a claimed range of up to 682 km (MIDC) for the BE 6e and 656 km for the XEV 9e. A rear-wheel drive (RWD) setup is standard, and an all-wheel drive (AWD) configuration may be introduced later.
Charging capabilities include 175 kW DC fast charging, enabling a 20-80% charge in just 20 minutes. Mahindra will also offer 7.3 kWh and 11.2 kWh wall chargers as optional accessories.
Advanced Safety
Safety is paramount in these SUVs, with both models equipped with:
- Up to seven airbags (six for the BE 6e).
- A 360-degree camera system.
- Brake by wire system
- Electronic Parking Brake with Auto hold
- Level-2 ADAS with features like autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and forward collision warning.
Competition and Pricing
The Mahindra BE 6e will compete with the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, Maruti eVX, and the Hyundai Creta EV, while the XEV 9e will take on the Tata Harrier EV and Tata Safari EV.
With starting prices of Rs. 18.90 lakh for the BE 6e and Rs. 21.90 lakh for the XEV 9e, Mahindra aims to establish its dominance in the rapidly growing EV market.
