Mercedes-Benz has launched the new G-Class with two variants – AMG Line and Adventure Edition that is specific to India!

Mercedes-Benz has launched the updated G-Class for the Indian Market. The new G400d replaces the G350d which was launched in 2019, and the pricing of the new one has gone up by Rs. 85 lakh which is 50% more than the G350d.

Mercedes G-Class G400d – What you need to know!

The new G400d is powered by the 3.0-litre straight-six diesel engine producing 325.48 bhp and 700 Nm of torque which is up from the 282.08 bhp and 600 Nm of torque from the G350d. It drives all four wheels via the 9-speed automatic gearbox, and it can go from 0 – 100 kmph in 6.4 seconds which is one seconds quicker than the outgoing variant. The G400d is underpinned by the same ladder-frame chassis with a special G-Mode well supplied with it’s driving set-up. It has a ground clearance of 241mm with water wadding capability of 700m.

The G400d has been introduced with two variants – AMG Line and Adventure Edition, and both starts at Rs. 2.55 crore (ex-showroom). The new G400d Adventure Edition is designed specifically for India, says Mercedes-Benz, and with this Edition comes four paint shades – Desert Sand non-metallic, Vintage Blue non-metallic, Travertine Beige metallic, and South Seas Blue metallic. There are 25 paint shades available for the G400d apart from those four paint shades. The Adventure Edition has a 18-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels, Burmester sound system, 64 colors for the ambient lighting, sliding sunroof, and other features as well.

The G-Class G400d deliveries is expected to begin in the last quarter of 2023 with bookings currently open and the existing customers of the Mercedes-Benz will be their first preference. The G-Class will continue to rival the Land Rover Defender, and the Toyota’s Land Cruiser 300.
