New Suzuki SUV is so popular that bookings has been suspended with waiting period of 3.5 Years!
Suzuki has temporarily suspended orders for the Jimny Nomade in Japan after an unprecedented surge in demand. The four-door version of Suzuki’s iconic off-roader has captivated buyers, leading to a massive backlog of orders far exceeding production capacity.
Unprecedented Demand for Jimny Nomade
Just four days after its official launch in Japan, Suzuki received an astonishing 50,000 orders for the Jimny Nomade. However, with production for the domestic market limited to 1,200 units per month, new buyers could face a waiting period of up to three and a half years.
Acknowledging the situation, Suzuki issued an official statement on its website:
We have received approximately 50,000 orders for the new Jimny Nomad (released April 3), announced on January 30, which far exceeds our sales plan. In light of this situation, we will temporarily suspend the acceptance of orders. We will make company-wide efforts to resume orders as soon as possible, so we ask for your patience for a little while longer. In addition, we will continue to make efforts to deliver vehicles that have already been ordered as soon as possible. We sincerely apologize to customers who are considering or placing orders for the vehicle, for any inconvenience caused. In addition, due to the suspension of order acceptance, advance exhibitions and exhibitions at events scheduled at shopping malls nationwide will also be canceled.
Why Is the Jimny Nomade So Popular?
The Jimny Nomade offers a more practical alternative to its three-door sibling, thanks to its longer wheelbase and extra set of doors. Measuring 3,890 mm in length, it maintains its compact off-road capabilities while improving interior space and daily usability.
Built in India, Exported Worldwide
Manufactured at Maruti Suzuki’s Gurugram plant in India, the Jimny Nomade is not only sold in Japan but also exported to key markets, including Southeast Asia, South Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East.
What’s Next?
While Suzuki works to fulfill existing orders, there is no official timeline for reopening reservations. The first deliveries in Japan are set for April 3rd, but due to the overwhelming response, Suzuki has also canceled all planned exhibition events for the Jimny Nomade in Japan.
With its rugged appeal, enhanced practicality, and global reach, the Jimny Nomade has quickly become one of Suzuki’s most sought-after models.
