ISUZU MU-X SUV: What’s New?
ISUZU, Japanese Automaker has launched the facelifted MU-X in Thailand to re-ignite its rivalry with Toyota Fortuner. The brand will be introducing the new SUV across 60+ countries and may makes it way to the Indian market are significantly overshadowed by the Toyota Fortuner’s strong brand presence and popularity. The newly updated MU-X is already available in other countries like Thailand, Australia, South Africa, the Middle East, and Central America.

The facelift of the MU-X introduces several design enhancements, including a refreshed front fascia, new wheels, and updated headlamps and tail lamps. An air curtain has been integrated into the front bumper to enhance aerodynamics. Inside, the instrument panel, seats, and door trims have been redesigned for a more modern look and feel. The MU-X is powered by a 3.0-liter diesel engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, delivering 187.74 bhp and 450 Nm of torque.
A new RS variant has been introduced featuring black exterior elements and an exclusive emblem on the front grille. The interior of this variant includes ambient lighting and foot lamps, catering to the growing trend of dark-themed SUVs in India. New features in the facelift include a 360 Surround View Camera for enhanced safety and parking assistance, along with a 7-inch LCD instrument panel. In terms of safety, the updated Isuzu MU-X is equipped with advanced features utilizing a next-generation stereo camera.
These safety features include:
- Automatic braking when pedestrians are detected at intersections.
- Automatic braking when reversing if vehicles are approaching.
- Windshield warming around the camera lens to prevent fogging in cold weather.
On the occasion of facelift launch, here’s what Isuzu President, Shinsuke Minami said, “We’re confident that the MU-X, which has undergone a further evolution with a redesigned exterior and interior, will continue to be one of the key products that drive the Isuzu brand to new heights on a global scale”.
The new ISUZU MU-X Launched in Thailand from THB 1,184,000 which is approximately around Rs. 26.90 Lakhs or Rs. 27 Lakhs in short. If it launches it India, it competes with the likes of MG Gloster, Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq, and upcoming Ford Endeavour.
