Honda Cars India has unveiled two striking new versions of its Elevate SUV – the Black Edition and Signature Black Edition – designed to elevate the SUV’s appeal further. Priced at Rs. 15.51 lakh and Rs. 15.71 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively, these limited-edition models are based on the top-spec ZX trim and cater to customers seeking a sleek and stealthy design.

Honda Elevate Black Edition: A Stealthy Makeover

The Elevate Black Edition introduces a stunning Crystal Black Pearl exterior that exudes a bold and understated elegance. The exterior features black-finished alloy wheels, silver-finished skid garnishes, and body-coloured door handles. Black Edition emblems on the tailgate emphasize its exclusivity.

For a more dramatic look, the Signature Black Edition takes things up a notch with a fully blacked-out exterior, including black skid garnishes, roof rails, and door lower garnishes. It also sports a Signature Edition badge on the front fender, adding to its premium appeal.

Interior and Features

Inside, both editions feature an all-black theme. The dashboard, door pads, armrests, and leatherette seats are finished in black with new stitching for a sporty vibe. The Signature Black Edition also gets ambient lighting with seven customizable colors, enhancing its luxurious feel. These editions continue to offer standout features such as a 10-inch free-standing infotainment screen, a single-pane sunroof, Level-2 ADAS with Lane Keep Assist, black leatherette upholstery, cruise control, push-button start, LED projector headlights, fog lights, and tail lights, along with a spacious 458L boot.

Powertrain and Performance

Under the hood, the Elevate Black Edition retains the proven 1.5L i-VTEC four-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 119 bhp and 145 Nm of torque. Customers can choose between a 6-speed manual gearbox and a CVT automatic transmission, ensuring a smooth and reliable driving experience.

Launch and Availability

Honda has started accepting bookings for these new editions, with deliveries of CVT variants beginning in January and manual variants in February 2025. Commenting on the launch, Takuya Tsumura, President and CEO of Honda Cars India Ltd., said:

“The demand for a distinct, premium, and exclusive SUV variant was strongly voiced by our customers. The Honda Elevate Black Edition and Signature Black Edition embody boldness and sophistication, providing a unique offering for those who value style and innovation. We are excited to introduce these editions to cater to evolving customer preferences and are confident that they will make a lasting impression in the SUV segment.”

Rivalry and Market Significance

Special editions with darker themes have proven successful in the competitive compact SUV market, which now hosts 11 contenders. The Elevate Black Edition will directly compete with similar offerings like the Hyundai Creta Knight Edition, Tata Curvv Dark Edition, and Kia Seltos X-Line Edition, combining premium aesthetics with Honda’s legacy of reliability.

By launching the Black Edition and Signature Black Edition, Honda has further solidified its position in the lucrative compact SUV space, catering to the growing demand for exclusive and stylish vehicles.
